Happy Holidays from Muddy, Charli Bruce, and Roland!

I’m taking a little pause on my photo challenge to soak in the moments that matter most—time with family, friends, and these furry souls.

Wishing you a beautiful Christmas filled with joy, love, and plenty of laughter.

And yes… this is AI.
One — the two brothers still aren’t friends yet.
Two — there is absolutely no universe where all three would sit this still.

But I love these babes all the same.

Happy Holidays, my darlings ✨🎄

Day 3: Darling.

I wasn’t fully in love with the first images I took.
So the next night, I tried again—
a new setup, a different scene, more intention.

But when I sat with the images, I realized something gentle and true.
The first one was what I had been reaching for all along.
It was natural.
Unforced.
Far simpler than the second attempt.

Sometimes we don’t need to do more.
Sometimes we need to pause, sit with the image,
and let it reveal itself to us.

Not everything needs fixing.
Not everything needs refining.
Some things just ask to be witnessed.

My dearest darling,
carry me through the night.
You once twisted and turned me,
and I danced with you until morning light.

Day 2: Soft.

What I enjoyed most about this one was how it gently expanded my editing skills—
still very basic, still subtle.

This isn’t just a picture of a candle.
It’s about bringing it to life,
as if you’re standing right there in the quiet with it.

This image asked me to slow down.
To notice how the smallest adjustments can breathe warmth into a photograph.
A reminder that a little truly goes a long way.

It was the perfect challenge for the day I was having—
emotionally heavy, a bit draining—
and this brought both comfort and a lesson.

Flickering, dancing in the night,
soft candlelight, heart-beating slow.
Sweet amber fills the air,
no worry left, not a single care

I decided to challenge myself for 7 days with photography—
themes, simple skills, and a few lines of writing to meet each image.
So why not share it with you.

Day 1: Stillness.

What I loved most about this moment was the restraint.
Natural light.
Very basic editing.
Letting the image speak instead of fixing it.

I didn’t plan for this to become a series,
but the beautiful thing about creating
is that it’s allowed to take on a shape of its own.

Winter light dances across the leaves,
dreaming of a summer breeze.
Standing tall, it sighs—
bathe me in warmth
before I meet the night.

I’m still here, friends.
Taking life in. Finding a new groove.

Usually I’d style this just right and reach for my DSLR — but not today. Today is about letting life be what it is and capturing it anyway.

This is my very first sewing project. It isn’t perfect. It took patience. It took figuring things out as I went. But I made it. I made an idea come to life with my own hands.

Never stop giving yourself permission to begin.
Stay close, darling.

If I may interject, one of the many reasons I am creating these journals is because we have literally been engulfed by everything the world is going through on top of what we are going through as humans. We have lost the ability to connect with ourselves. We avoid. We look other places. But nothing will compare to nature, quiet spaces for your soul, and pen to paper.

Wishing you peace, my darlings.

The way a dog greets you and fills your face with kisses. The happiness in their eyes
That’s indescribable joy

The way a dog greets you knowing that everything isn’t ok. The concern in their eyes
That’s indescribable love.

Pet owners, you know.

We are so lucky to have them. They are sweet darlings that fill us up ❤️

She waited for me.

This 1960's New Home Sewing machine was a gift that my mother received as a graduation present. I watched her use it on and off for years.

It has sat quiet for a while now --until I finally found the courage to thread her up and give it a try. There's something about sewing by hand and stitching leather that reminds me...not everything has to come easy to still be worth it.

These journals? They're not just stitched pages --they hold space for memories, music, and meaning. An experience, really. A rhythm.

I may have taken the long way here, but I'm still here. And the vision? It's just the beginning.

Stay close, Darling.

His name was Max. My first dog.
I remember his soft brown coat, the way it rippled when he ran.

I’d bury my face into his fur, still damp from the rain, and feel safe in a world I was still learning.

But sadly, Max couldn’t stay and yet I still searched door to door, heart cracked wide open, hoping love could be found again if I just looked hard enough.

That little girl didn’t know then
that she was learning how to cherish the fleeting, how to weather storms and still notice the quiet beauty around her

Mary Marie Darling is for her—and for anyone who’s ever needed to come home to themselves again.

So why Darling?? That's clearly not my last name :) Well, there is a very great story behind it. Mary Darling was my Grandmother's name. She was an orphan. Actually, we aren't even sure if Mary Darling was her real name! It's beautiful though, isn't it? I never got to meet her and think of her often. I've been told she was very quiet at times, but so full of love. She's a mystery too. Sound familiar ;) Sounds a bit like me, but I feel my photography is that too. I try to capture the mysteries, beauty, and most importantly love. I try to photograph anything or anyone with love, just as my Grandma showed love to all of those around her.
