Most people see the plane taking off. Or the finished video.

They don’t usually see everything that happens before either of those things.

Every work trip starts with charging batteries, checking cameras and lenses, formatting memory cards, testing gear, packing cases, and making sure nothing gets left behind.

It’s not the glamorous part of filmmaking, but it’s one of the most important.

Because when we finally arrive on location, we don’t want to be thinking about equipment.

We want to be fully present, focused on telling the story.

For this year's Mayor's Ball, held in conjunction with America 250, we had the privilege of helping tell the story of Danbury. From the Revolutionary War to the Danbury Fair, from generations of families to new faces finding opportunity here, one theme emerged again and again: Danbury's ability to reinvent itself while never losing its sense of community.
