Growing up, one thing that was always a constant thing for me was music. Whether it was the Magic Organ, the 50s, or country music, it’s always been there for all the different experiences I’ve had. Country music, and specifically , have been there for the longest. I have so many great memories woven around the lyrics of his songs; vivid images come to mind when I hear his voice. His greatest song is “Livin’ on Love,” and do I ever get nostalgic - and sometimes emotional - listening to it. His music has helped me through the darkest times of my life, and I am eternally grateful for that. He’s written many of his songs, and is a member of the Songwriters Hall of Fame. He’s earned many well deserved awards, including his 2017 induction into the Country Music Hall of Fame, the industry’s highest honor. He’s released 22 studio albums with 75 million total sales. He’s helped the country through its hardest time, too. His song “Where Were You (When the World Stopped Turning)” helped the nation begin the healing process after the attacks on that tragic September day in 2001. From “Here in the Real World” to “Where Have You Gone,” his albums are country music at its absolute best, and the industry just wouldn’t be where it is today without him. I saw him in concert once, and it’s an experience I’ll never forget. Happy 66th birthday to the greatest artist of any genre to ever grace the stage, the truly great Alan Jackson!!!!!
