August is officially wrapping up and what a season it has been.

I consider my "busy season" to run from March through the end of October. While my "peak" summer season" is dwindling down, busy season definitely isn't over yet!

From March 1st through today, August 30th--which is 183 days--I have photographed 131 sessions. That is 131 times someone chose me to document their family, their babies, their senior and a season of their lives! I am SO incredibly blessed.

September has VERY limited availability, but October still has a bit of room on my calendar!

If you're headed to the beach, need updated family portraits around the Eastern Shore or Mobile, or have a 2027 Senior who needs some fun senior casuals--I'd love the opportunity to meet and work with you!

Most people only see me for about 30 minutes on the beach….

They see me laughing with their kids, fixing their windswept hair, chasing sunsets, and snapping away…

What they don’t see is this👇🏼👇🏼👇🏼

Two screens. Thousands of images. One monitor full of proof galleries, the other full of finished galleries. Hours spent perfecting color, removing distractions, organizing files, uploading galleries, answering emails, managing bookings, backing up memories, and making sure every family receives a gallery I’m proud to put my name on.

I’m a one-woman show.🧚🏽‍♂️🧚🏽‍♂️🧚🏽‍♂️

There isn’t an assistant answering emails, editing galleries, scheduling sessions, posting on social media, or handling the day-to-day stuff. Every message, every gallery, every edit, every invoice, every questionnaire, every little detail….it all comes from me, myself and I!!! Though, if Barefoot Birdie keeps growing, an assistant may be in my future. 👀🩵

The 30 minutes you spend with me on the beach is such a small piece of what goes into your experience!!!

It's time for summer to start winding down and all of us to start back at our school routines....sadly😞 Summer just slid on by, didn't it?!

That said, it's also time that, as my girls and I settle into our homeschool routines here at our house next week, I have to be more intentional with my calendar so that I can be more present with my girls. This means less availability, slower message replies, possibly longer gallery turnaround and probably a little less time here on Facebook too as I get back in the routine of balancing work, home, + homeschool!

Praying for a year filled with growth, confidence, kindness and protection for all of your sweet babies this school year. Whether they're walking into a classroom or learning around a kitchen table, I hope this year is full of sweet memories.

Thank you all for supporting me and my little dream of mine, while also allowing me to be present for my family. 🩵🌴
