*** 3 Things I Wish Every Bride Knew ***

1. Your wedding date matters more than you think.
If you’re getting married during a season when the sun sets early, your ceremony time can make a huge difference. If you’re not doing a first look and your ceremony starts late, much of your portrait time may happen after dark.

If you have a strong preference about seeing your groom for the first time at the altar, consider the season and sunset time when choosing your date. 🤍

2. Don’t spend your whole wedding day chasing the “perfect” picture.
The most beautiful galleries aren’t the ones where every moment was perfectly posed or produced. They’re the ones that feel like you.

True joy photographs more beautifully than a forced pose ever could. Let yourself laugh, cry, dance, hug, and be completely present. Those are the images you’ll feel years from now.

3. Let go of the reins and live your wedding day.
You hired professionals because you shouldn’t have to carry every little stress yourself. Let your vendors handle the curveballs while you stay present with your husband, your family, and your people.

I’ve photographed through power outages, lipstick on the front of a wedding dress, and even a hurricane delaying outdoor portraits. Somehow, we always figure it out. 😉

Your job is not to manage the day.
Your job is to live it. 🥹🤎

I’ve learned the value of true friendship in a way I don’t think I fully understood when I was younger…

There’s something so special about having people in your corner who genuinely love you, cheer for you, celebrate your wins, sit with you in the hard seasons, and never make you question whether they’re happy to see you succeed.

The last few years have taught me just how important those people are….
The ones who show up.
The ones who make life lighter.
The ones who remind you who you are when you’ve forgotten for a minute.

And I think that’s one of the most beautiful things about a wedding day, too!

Looking around and realizing, “these are my people.” The people who have loved you through so many seasons, and who are standing beside you as you step into this one. Keep those people close!

Tag someone you know will always be in your corner 🤍💕

One of my last sessions of summer: A Surprise Proposal! I will neverrrr get tired of capturing a proposal. The feelings are a mix of anticipation, nervousness, shock (with immediate excitement), love, and gratitude. I always leave a proposal session feeling refreshed and thankful… Especially when the setting is as lovely as the Grand Hotel Golf Resort & Spa, Autograph Collection 🤍
