“Hey Dad, where’s the Fuji? I want to get this good light.”

Most days, I’m the one behind the camera. Chasing stories, documenting moments, and trying to preserve memories before they slip away. But every once in a while, you realize it’s time to hand the camera over.

Watching Grace get excited about photography has been pretty special. She’s starting to see light, moments, and little details that most people walk right past. Whether it’s friends, family, or time spent outdoors, she’s genuinely excited to capture it all.

As a photographer, that makes me stoked. As a dad, it makes me proud. 🥹

Some moments hit harder when you’re standing behind the camera. Watching these guys load up and take off, I just kept thinking about the weight they carry. Leaving their families behind to go protect people they’ve never even met.

That kind of sacrifice is hard to put into words. Honestly got a little choked up watching that plane leave the runway. Just left feeling incredibly thankful, humbled, and reminded that freedom is paid for by men and women willing to answer a calling bigger than themselves.

Forever grateful for the ones who step onto that plane. 🇺🇸

When you get THE call.

Made the trip to the taxidermist today to pick up my buck from last year. So many good memories tied to this deer and that time in the woods during the rut.

Thankful for helping me track him down and drag him out and for every moment that led up to this one. These are the memories that stick with you forever.
