Another wedding making its way onto the preview train… 🤍

And this one had a little bit of everything. A gorgeous bride, a groom who was down for whatever we threw at him, one heck of a bridal party, the prettiest pops of purple and orange, and two tiny girls who very clearly had their own agenda for the day. 😂

Because really, wedding days are never just about getting everyone to stand perfectly and smile at the camera. It’s the chaos in between. The people you chose to stand beside you. Little hands holding bouquets. Kids wandering out of the photo because they’ve officially decided we’re done here. 😂 And all of those little moments happening around the two people who brought everyone together in the first place.

And can we also take a minute for this VENUE?! The white barn, those trees, the pond… I could have happily kept these two out there taking pictures until somebody physically drug me away!

Congratulations to these two and their sweet little family! 🤍

Some sessions just take a little… figuring out. 🤎

This sweet little lady’s photos officially took us TWO sessions to accomplish.

First attempt? Outside.
Little Miss: absolutely not.

So we regrouped, tried again another day, headed outside and… turns out the day wasn’t the problem. 😂

Through our two attempts we learned one very important thing about this little lady: she is a homebody. She would simply prefer that we stop taking her into the great outdoors and photograph her from the comfort of her own home, thank you very much.

And honestly? Noted for all future sessions. 😂

Because the second we headed inside, LOOK AT HER. Smiles. Happy girl. Living her best life on her own couch like, finally, you people have figured it out.

We still managed to sneak in some beautiful outdoor family photos, but I have to say—I kind of love that these tell the story of exactly who she is right now.

Little Miss knows what she likes. And apparently, it is not outside. 🤎😉🌻

I’ve had quite a few of you asking if I was going to sneak in any fall minis this year and, well… apparently I have zero ability to say no! ;)

So here we go!

These are perfect for families, couples, kiddos, updated yearly photos—or honestly anyone who has been saying “we really need to get pictures done…” for the last six months. 😏

Officially awarding Aedyn the Senior Session Trooper of the Year.

Because he PUT. UP. WITH. IT. ALL OF IT… & all OF US!

When it comes to a Dahl senior session & ASP photography, we have one heck of a posse that shows up for the event and I wouldn’t have it any other way! Together we navigate, brain storm locations and poses and we conquer!! I’m not sure that anyone is the same afterwards! 😂

Between all of the ideas, locations, outfit changes, sports, props and the approximately 47 times we probably said, “Okay wait- I have one more idea…” Aedyn just rolled with it.

But probably my favorite part was while we were setting up one of his baseball shots..

Aedyn: “Where do you want me to stand?”

Me: “Okay, slide a little to the left…no no wait a little the other way.. Okay- now …slide to the left.”

And then my brain immediately went somewhere it absolutely did not need to go.

“Now slide to the right…”

And because apparently I have zero self-control-

“NOW CRISS CROSS.”

And the way Aedyn slowly turned around and looked at me like, what in the actual world is wrong with this woman? 😂

I LOST IT.

Honestly, that look alone might have been my favorite part of the entire session. 😂

And that pretty much sums up Aedyn’s senior pictures. He was game for whatever ridiculous idea we came up with, tolerated all of our shenanigans, laughed along with us (or possibly AT us), and absolutely killed it in the process.

Football. Baseball. The casual stuff. Random rusty things we all decided he needed to sit on. We packed A LOT into this one.

And somehow between all of our shenanigans, we ended up with one heck of a senior gallery.

Aedyn, you were an absolute trooper. 10/10. Would make you criss cross again. 😂👏

Rylin made all of it look EASY.

Needless to say, narrowing this one down for a preview was basically impossible.

Also… can we please give that sunset the recognition it deserves?! Because Minnesota really said, “Fine, I’ll cooperate tonight.

This day.

Beautiful details. A STUNNING bride. A groom who could not stop looking at her. The sweetest people surrounding them. And then Mother Nature decided to show off a little bit and gave us this golden light to end the night. 🙌🏻

But I think my favorite part was these two together.

You can pose people all day long, but you can’t manufacture the way someone looks at their person. And these two? Yeah. They made my job pretty dang easy.

Also, can we please discuss Syd?! The dress. The hair. The veil. ALL OF IT. 😍

And then there are the sessions that are about so much more than pictures. 🤎

Miss Ida Jo officially has a forever family. 🥹

I got to photograph this sweet girl on her official ADOPTION DAY, and I mean… LOOK AT HER. The smile. The cheeks. The little overalls. The fact that she apparently understood this was her day and came fully prepared to be the star of the show.

But my favorite part might be that first photo.

Because someday Ida Jo gets to look back at it and see exactly what was surrounding her on this day….two people who chose her, love her, and get to call her theirs forever.

Happy Adoption Day, sweet girl. 🤎

This maternity session. 🤍

There is just something about photographing this season….the waiting, the anticipation, the holy crap, we’re about to meet this little person part of life.

And these two made it pretty dang easy.

Golden light, a rocky creek bed, that dress, a gorgeous mama, and two people soaking up the last little bit of life before everything changes in the very best way.

Baby, you are already so loved. 🤍

And also… can we please talk about that LIGHT?! Because Mother Nature absolutely understood the assignment that night. 🔥
