🇺🇸 Coming from a large military family, Memorial Day has always hit close to home for me.

I am deeply grateful for my friends and family who served and made it back home. Their courage, discipline, and sacrifice shaped the way I see this country, this weekend, and the freedoms we often take for granted. But Memorial Day belongs to the men and women who never made it home.

Since the years after the Civil War, Americans have gathered to place flowers, lower flags, say names, and remember those who gave everything in service to this nation. From the fields of Gettysburg to the beaches of Normandy, from Korea and Vietnam to Iraq and Afghanistan, every generation has known families who carried the cost of freedom forever.

This weekend, I will be thinking of them.

The fallen.

The families who still feel their absence...

The service members who stood for something greater than themselves.

May we remember them with humility, speak their names with respect, and carry our gratitude beyond this weekend...

Freedom has a cost.
Today, we remember and honor those who paid it in full.
