I’ve been waiting for share this one🥹

Less than five days before this opportunity came my way, I was literally talking about how badly I wanted to be in different rooms, shoot different kinds of work, and stop putting myself in a box.

And then this happened. 🥹

I had the chance to photograph Chantel & Ashley’s wedding alongside Lit Wed and I’m really just grateful😭

Grateful for the opportunity, and especially grateful for them. They were so warm, so easy to connect with, and made me feel like more than just the photographer there to do a job. Being able to help make the day feel a little easier and document moments that meant so much to them is something I won’t take lightly.

I’ve been hearing a lot of “no” lately, so this felt like a reminder to keep showing up, keep applying, keep speaking up, keep asking and keep making room for the yes📸✨

Lately I’ve just been betting on myself a little harder.

Applying for things outside of my comfort zone. Applying for things where I’m like, “I can absolutely do this.” Applying for things where I’m like, “Whew… this might be a stretch, but let me try anyway.” 😂 Sometimes I’m underqualified. Sometimes I’m overqualified. And sometimes I have the experience and still get told no.

That part used to mess with me way more than I’d like to admit.

Now I’m trying to look at it differently. At least I put myself in the room. At least I asked. At least I didn’t count myself out before somebody else had the chance to.

I’m still learning how to take rejection without making it mean something bigger about me or my work.

So for now, I’m just gonna keep applying, pitching, trying new things, and seeing what happens.

Because eventually one of these leaps has to land somewhere📌

We said “let’s beat the heat and shoot at sunrise.” The humidity said “cute.” 🤣 RIP to the curls, but the photos? Worth it😍 .

Personally, I feel like a wedding reception is only as good as the people willing to get on the dance floor.

And baby… THEY CAME READY. 😭😂

This is why I’m always looking beyond the couple during receptions. Your people are somewhere behind you screaming lyrics, hyping each other up, attempting choreography nobody rehearsed and creating an entirely separate storyline.

And yes. Our team is there documenting ALL of it. 📸

It gets me everytime🥹😭
I don’t care how many weddings I photograph…

Watching someone see their partner for the first time at the altar will never get old.

Every single expression is different.

Some smile. Some laugh. Some immediately start crying. Some are trying so hard not to cry.

Meanwhile, I’m behind the camera pretending I’m completely fine.

‼️Spoiler: I’m usually not. 😂😭

You can tell exactly how someone feels before they ever say a word. That’s why I love these moments so much.

No posing. No direction. Just pure emotion.

….And somehow… I’m supposed to keep my camera steady through all of it. 📷😭

The Wait🖤

There’s always a moment. Right before the music starts. Right before the doors open.

They’re standing at the altar trying to keep it together… and you can literally see every emotion across their face.

The nerves.
The excitement.
The anticipation.

Then they finally see their person…. and everything changes.

I don’t know how y’all expect me to photograph moments like this without crying too. 🥹😭😭😭

The dress is on.
The shoes are tied.
The bouquet is in her hands.
