I recently said to a friend (, naturally):
"I hope that 2022 couples feel the freedom to be late. To go where they want. To go rogue on their wedding days."
And I truly stand by your freedom to do as you please. And I'll rejoice quietly with you in each and every decision you make.
For example, Chase and Dorothy, who were an OG pandemic couple that were scheduled to get married in early 2020. They ultimately said vows on a family porch, but still longed for that moment of getting dressed up and seeing each other in full glory.
So for an hour in October 2021, I rejoiced with them, followed their explorations, and gained insight into the places and things they love about their town. They had a little dance in front of the aerial lift bridge, they popped champagne on Seven Bridges road, they leaned into one another and for 60 minutes straight were simply in awe of the person they married.
I hope you find this level of rejoicing in your day. Leave unscheduled time. Make pit stops. Detour.
Go rogue.
