Choosing who stands beside you on your wedding day is so much more important than most people realize. I’ve seen bridal parties who make the entire day feel lighter, the friends who fix your veil without being asked, keep you laughing through the nerves, grab you water before you even know you need it, and cheer you on like it’s the biggest moment of your life (because it is). They protect the joy of the day, quietly and intentionally, and most of the time, that’s exactly what you get… a group of people who show up wholeheartedly for you.
But every once in a while, I see the other side… and when it happens, it can change everything. A late arrival, unnecessary drama, someone ignoring the timeline or making the moment about themselves and it doesn’t just create stress. It shifts the entire energy of the day in ways that are hard to recover from.
That’s also why part of my job isn’t just taking photos, it’s protecting your peace. I’m watching the dynamics, shielding you from unnecessary chaos, keeping things moving, and stepping in when someone else’s behavior starts to affect the experience you’ve worked so hard to create. You get one wedding day, and I take seriously the responsibility of helping it feel as good as it looks.
Your wedding isn’t a performance. It’s a deeply personal, emotional, once-in-a-lifetime moment. The people you choose should honor that. Choose the ones who bring calm instead of chaos, who celebrate you without competing with you, who keep the focus where it belongs, on your love, your experience, your day.
Ps. For the record, Kenzie’s bridal party was amazing 🩷
