Totally stoked to learn that my photo didn't just make it in this book, it made the cover! This is so humbling that my first thought was that surely everyone got a version of the book that featured their own photo as the cover.

Sometimes the magic of an image isn’t about adding more — it’s about simplifying and directing the eye exactly where you want it to go.

For this edit, my goal was to:
• keep the subject bright and separated from the background
• darken and simplify distractions behind them
• enhance the accent colors for a little extra pop
• crop intentionally for stronger composition

I always try to get as much right in-camera as possible instead of relying on “fixing it later in Photoshop,” but editing is where the final artistic vision really comes together. The before/after shows how small adjustments in light, color, and focus can completely change the mood of an image.

I’ve really been loving sessions that feel a little more lived-in and intentional lately — less stiff posing, more storytelling.

Coffee shops, conversations, creative spaces, movement, personality… the little details that make images feel like you.

These are the kinds of sessions that remind me how much I love creating lifestyle and branding-inspired portraits. 🤍
