Hi y'all, time for my version of the serious post.
TL;DR, I'm leaving it up to you, but you're also always welcome to revoke permission.
First, I want y'all to know that this isn't something I rushed to post about because I wanted to take the time to really think things through.
In case you aren't aware, the 7th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals ruled that fictional, realistic CSAM generated by ai is, as of now, allowed. This is horrific and disgusting and I urge you to pressure law makers to regulate AI use ASAP. In response, many photographers and businesses are taking down or stopping sharing identifiable images of children.
I want to be clear that AI generated CSAM depicting real children is STILL ILLEGAL. That said, the world is a scary place.
As of now, I am not blanket removing old photos and while I will be shifting towards posting fewer identifiable images, I am ultimately leaving it up to you, as parents.
I have always made photo releases optional for all but certain model calls (and those are communicated well in advance). That will not change. I have never attached names to images. I have never indicated birth dates or stats or anything identifiable to strangers. None of that will change.
That said, something I have always had as an "unwritten" policy/practice is removing anything requested, and now I'm putting it in writing. You can revoke consent for me posting your child at ANY point in time. Want to revoke permission? Cool, give me like fifteen minutes and I'll remove anything I have up. You won't ever get pushback from me.
You are always 100% in charge of your and your child's boundaries.
I do ask that you give me about 24 hours grace to ensure your child's images are fully removed from my website and socials from the time of your request.
