Mountain goat kids bring plenty of personality to the alpine landscape. Some pause long enough for a portrait, while others spend their time chasing, jumping, and testing their climbing skills on the rocky slopes. Snowy Egrets are active, energetic hunters often seen darting through shallow water in search of fish and other small prey. Unlike many herons that stand still and wait, Snowy Egrets frequently run, shuffle their feet, spread their wings, and make quick strikes to flush out and catch food.

Badlands in black & white. I learned photography from my dad developing film and making prints in our basement darkroom. My photography world was black and white back then. Today, black & white is much more of a secondary thought for me, but I still love its simplicity and expression.
