Got wildflowers on the mind!

Excited to chase some wildflowers throughout Colorado this year. I have a lot going on in my personal life currently but once it’s all settled I can’t wait to get back out exploring hunting wildflowers!

Antelope Canyon

A few more from Upper and Lower Antelope Canyon from my first time to the area earlier this year. I just love the way the light bends into the slots, endless compositions to explore. and are great tours teaching you the history and helping preserve these natural wonders!

If you’re a photographer look into the photo tours for more time, also I highly recommend an harness to make maneuvering through the canyons easy with your camera!

Lower Yosemite Falls

Little spot perfectly framing the falls with trees, you’d never know the park got over 4 feet of snow just days before from this capture!

First light in Yosemite earlier this year left me dreamin! It was my first time visiting the park and I am itching to go back, I might sneak in a trip in fall!

After an incredible sunrise at tunnel view and I decided to wander the valley finding a few fun spots with some reflections of these massive granite peaks. The golden sun reflecting light off the cliff faces really does something magical here.

Shaped by wind and water

This capture makes me think of the fertility of nature, simple lines bending and curving, a portal into the unknown bringing light to the darkness. What a wild place we live, finding deeper meaning and connection simply through viewing natures beauty!

I spent a few days exploring the Alabama Hills, a couple being socked in with snow. A couple arches from the area when the clouds and light decided to play, three different mornings. Definitely plan to make a fall trip out that way, as I have some nightscapes I wish to capture here, and maybe some fall colors!

Lower Antelope Canyon

This year I made my 16 year old self happy fulfilling a dream of seeing these slot canyons. The walls are carved by water and wind and carry so much history, like over 180 million years. As a photographer there are so many compositions here that you can comeback time and time again and see it all differently the way the light glows or direct rays enter the slot from above keep us coming back chasing the light.

Cathedral reflection

Spent a night in Sedona earlier this year, spring break is busy down there. I didn’t get the clouds I’d hoped for but the stark contrast of the rock against the blue sky is magical just like Sedona. I lived in AZ for a short while over 10 years ago and loved getting to explore this area, so many good restaurants, hikes and energy centers. Definitely a place to visit, I just might go back in winter, see it a lil less crowded😉

Still thinking of Iceland….

From many cloudy days we had on our week in Iceland, the country is beautiful and calling me back to chase midnight sun. Not this year, but maybe next I will make this happen. For now I can visit back on the captures from that adventure!

Svínafellsjökull Is a wild glacial area in Iceland that’s wind can be absolutely wild. and I walked up during the day to scout locations for potential northern lights activity that night and were almost blown off the mountain! So windy I had to hold my tripod down while getting as low to the ground as I could for some captures, that night though was so serene, no wind and color dripping from the sky. This was our first true full experience of the lights on this trip and our last evening in Iceland before we took off to Norway for 7 days where we had lights almost every night.

Such a great experience, so much I left that needs exploring still I can’t wait to plan a trip and get back there!
