Kasey Loftin Creative Photographer of adventurers, lovers, and genuinely awesome souls. I am passionate about visual storytelling. I want to tell real stories.

I think authentic moments are the ones most worth capturing. it can be grocery shopping as a family... getting coffee before church on Sunday... hiking in blowing rock... spending the afternoon at the dog park… shopping for a Christmas tree… making pancakes on Saturday morning… having a date night… or getting married. I want to document moments that were going to be lived anyway.

The flowers, the styling, the ex*****on (under extreme weather conditions)… all perfect. 😍

I do this thing where I try to photograph details in a way they can be framed as art in your home. Particularly flowers. The florals at Colleen Odegaard’s wedding were gorgeous so I played with some light and movement for that first one.

Can you imagine what it must be like as a child, for a stranger to come to your home one day, pack a single bag of your belongings - likely a garbage bag - and take you away from home?

You ride to their office where you sit for hours while a social worker desperately tries to find somewhere for you to sleep.

How scary would that be?

That has been reality for over 1,000 kids in the greater Charlotte area right now.

Another harsh and devastating reality - the number of children in foster care far exceeds the number of licensed foster homes.

I heard the statistics 10 years ago, and I jumped in any way I could. For me that was helping Nicole Konkal Taylor at Congregations for Kids. She wasn’t even sure what she needed, so I told her I could help build a social media presence across platforms so more people could hear more about the kids right here in our city who are in crisis. They need us. Their parents need us.

Recently, my brother Brandon Weimer and sister Kim Weimer (pictured) decided to become licensed foster parents in Cabarrus County through another great organization AGAPE of NC. I’m so proud of this role they are committing to. It’s beautiful to watch how they have so much love, patience, and grace with the two sweet siblings they have had this summer. I pray they can continue to be a warm, bright light in a scary dark place for littles in limbo.

You don’t have to become a foster parent to make a difference. You can be a champion for kids in foster care in countless ways. If you don’t already follow Congregations for Kids, please do! Share their stories and spread the word about all the ways you can step in to help these kids experiencing foster care. Everyone can do something.

I love stickers! Soooo… I had got these as a gift to celebrate Selah’s launch.

So this is a little sneak peek at the branding I did for my dear, talented friend Christy Archut’s new bodywork and massage business.

I was able to get a couple of massages with her recently and she didn’t just go through the motions to touch every area, she actually felt my muscles and paid attention and care to what my body needed. It was incredible.

Comment Selah and I can send you her website if you’re looking for a massage therapist in the Lake Norman area!!

If you only ever get creative to get paid, you’re doing it wrong. 🙃
