🎨 Color Powder War Family Photoshoot

After 17 years photographing families here in Denver, I’ve had the joy of watching many grow and return year after year.

While it’s wonderful to document that growth, sometimes it’s fun to shake things up! So, if you’re ready for something new, I have a few creative ideas for your next shoot — from dressing up for an elegant stroll through downtown Denver, to exploring the Colorado Railroad Museum in Golden… and my personal favorite: Color Powder War!

💥 What Is a Color Powder War Photoshoot?

It’s bright, it’s messy, and it’s full of laughter. Color Wars with your kids is one of the most joyful ways to capture their true personality and enthusiasm!

🧺 How to Prepare

1. Bring two outfits:

Outfit #1: For your “normal” portraits.

Outfit #2: A white shirt and any bottoms for the color fun.

2. Plan for the ride home:

Bring an extra change of clothes, water for rinsing off, and a few towels.

3. The flow of the session:

• We’ll start with traditional portraits in your first outfit.

• Then we’ll switch to the white shirts for the Color War!

• Kids get to go first, then parents join in — and we’ll keep going until there’s color everywhere!

We’ll finish with a mix of fun group shots, candid moments, and individual portraits that capture your family’s energy and connection.
