I have been very passionate about photography since the birth of my two little boys. With the support of my husband, I left my career as a Management Consultant after the birth of my second son to stay home and raise my boys full-time. During my time at home with them, I have snapped thousands of photographs to try to capture all of those precious moments that pass us by way too quickly. I revisit

my children’s photos often - every time, feeling and remembering those moments exactly as if they were happening all over again. I began to take photographs for my family and friends, and I realized that I really had a passion for seeing how my photographs touched others. To me, a great photograph is not just seeing a beautiful picture; a truly great photograph makes you experience an emotion. This experience of emotion through photography is something that I strive to deliver to all of my clients. My style....
Since I take many photos of young children, I find that the best shots come when children are comfortable and just having fun being themselves. Hence, I lean toward lifestyle photography where children/families are not so forced into set poses, but more so interacting as they do with each other every day. I like to try to capture their individual personalities, as these are the memories most families prefer!

When I look at all these photos from my fall sessions, it feels like it was just yesterday and forever-ago at the same time. I guess spring will be here before we know it. But the real question on my mind is….ARE WE GOING TO SEE SNOW IN NORTH CAROLINA THIS WINTER?!?! What is your prediction???? Yes 👍🏼 or no 👎🏼. I’m hoping for 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼

Are you ever worried about how your kids will behave for your family photoshoot? Don’t be! ❌

After years of photographing families & kids (and parenting my own three), I’ve learned to go with the flow…prepare for the worst, but hope for the best 🤞🏼😅

To be perfectly honest, I don’t mind the chaos at all. I actually prefer it. I love children with big energy - who want to run, play, laugh, be LOUD, be silly…or even cry!!!! It always keeps things more interesting. And if your child is having a rough day, it is OK 👌🏼 Maybe I shouldn’t jinx myself, but in over 10 years in this business, I have NEVER left a shoot with NOTHING. EVER.

So if you’re a family who cares more about real life than looking perfect, who lets moments happen instead of trying to control them, & who allows your kids to be kids, YOU’RE MY KIND OF PEOPLE ❤️🙌🏼

📸 My favorite thing about photography is seeing the same families year after year. I’ve watched couples become parents. I’ve watched first-time parents become third-time parents. I’ve watched newborn babies become toddlers, and watched those same toddlers become pre-teens 🤯 It is so special to see so many families grow and change.

This particular couple - I photographed them for their PROM!!!! Now they are married and about to welcome their first baby!!!! Isn’t that crazy?! I’ve photographed them plenty of times between these two big events, but I feel like I’ve watched them grow up. It is truly amazing and the reason I love being a photographer ☺️❤️

Do you have trouble deciding what to do with your digital images? 🙋🏼‍♀️ If your answer is YES, I highly encourage you to create an album with all of your images!! If you are too busy or just don’t feel like organizing and creating your own album, don’t forget that you can simply order one directly from your session gallery!! You don't have to do anything 🎉 I design and order it, and it'll show up on your doorstep within a couple of weeks. Easy-peasy ☺️ (**Lifestyle newborn sessions actually include an album**)

Can getting your family ready for a session be stressful? Yes...but only if you let it.

I know it may be easier said than done, but don't stress the day of your session. Is your toddler having meltdown after meltdown? Oh well! Is your older child complaining? Let it go! ⁠

We always have a choice. We can either choose to let things go, or we can choose to let them eat us up inside and stress us out. Trust me, always choose the first option...especially on session day 😉
