I've spent the last week volunteering at one of my absolute favorite places IN THE WORLDDDDD, and it's always so good to come home to a place that feels untouched by time. No phones, no screensโjust incredible people, lush landscapes, star-filled skies, and the kind of adventures that remind you what really matters.
I'm happy to report that "The Camp Ondessonk magic" is alive + well, and getting to watch my own kids (+ their cousins!) experience the same joy, confidence, and wonder that shaped so much of my childhood has been pure magic.
In my childhoodโand even todayโI'm so grateful for the memories, the people, and the opportunity to give back to a place that has given me so much. This is where my love of the outdoors began, where lifelong friendships were made, and where I learned that some of life's greatest adventures happen when you simply step outside.
And if you've never heard of Camp Ondessonk or explored the Shawnee National Forest... add it to your list, send your kids + come volunteer!!! I promise you, you won't regret it.
