Had some fun with this one. One of the first things we teach our interns is how to build a clean 3-point lighting setup for interviews. It’s a fundamental skill every filmmaker should know. Of course, we couldn’t leave it there, so we added a few creative touches while keeping the setup simple and easy to recreate.

Lighting doesn’t have to be complicated—it just has to be intentional.

For this setup we used the STORM 700x as our key light, the STORM 400x with the Spotlight attachment to create the sun effect, and five Nova P300Cs on our overhead lighting grid to build the purple background. A few simple lighting choices completely transformed the scene and helped separate the subject from the background.
