This is by FAR the most MOST EXCITING NEWS I’ve shared this year…
I AM HAVING TOP SURGERY IN NOVEMBER!!! *screams from happiness* Ahhhhh!!!
I am SO lucky that I’ve been able to choose what feels good and right for me, as I know many trans people don’t have that same privilege. And I am beyond privileged that my insurance is covering every penny of my surgery - (sometimes being chronically ill and meeting your deductible and OOP max in April pays off 😅).
So instead of raising funds for my own top surgery, I’m raising funds for , which provides financial assistance to trans, non-binary and gender-diverse Iowans as they seek gender-affirming care.
When you donate $50 to ITMAF, you will be entered in a raffle to win a 1-hour photo shoot with me! $100 donation = 2 tickets, etc etc. My one-hour sessions are normally $500+!
If you donate $200, you have won yourself a mini session with me! A half hour, one outfit, one location session of any kind.
You can donate to ITMAF on Venmo . To enter the raffle or claim your session, just send me a screenshot of your donation and you’re good to go!
Let’s give back to an organization that gives so much!

I just don’t have words for the absolute JOY of photographing my oldest brother Jedidiah & his fiancé, Jeremy!
It’s been such an incredible gift to welcome Jeremy into our family and to have such a fun, creative, thoughtful, hilarious human as my future brother-in-law!

Today I’m 30 years old!
In many ways, I never thought this day would come. Depression has ravaged my life and ruled much of my 20s. And it has come back swinging the last two months.
But I made it. To today. The day I start a new decade of life. The decade I get to start by saying, with deep truth that comes from the chest -
I have met the Great Love of My Life - and they have chosen my name: Jasper. And damn, I’m so proud of the grit I’ve shown to get here. It’s not been pretty the whole time and far from easy, but one thing I’ve learned in 30 years is that if I give it some time, some self-compassion, and some community care, everything comes back to a place of groundedness and love.
I am starting my 30s knowing I am a terrible predictor of what is to come - And that inability to know is so beautiful and human and I hope I never stop trying to know what’s next. Never stop making plans. Never stop loving like I’ll love forever.
I feel deep gratitude for the life I have, for those who let me in close and love me and let me love them. For being an art teacher. For those who love me like family. For my cat who loves me deeply. For a place to call home in this city - a place where I feel seen and loved for who I am, even and especially as I change and grow.
30 is a gift I have given myself, but it’s also the best gift from every person who has come into my life and given me a piece of their heart. So thank you. Love you. & Cheers to the next 10 - may they be built upon this foundation of self-love & community love that my 20s have given me. 🤍

These two babes braved the freezing cold wind yesterday for their gorgeous and giggly session!!
Loved getting to hang with Sarah & Damian and I cannot wait for their wedding celebration in October - it’s going to be incredible!! 🙌🏼

A small excerpt from the speech I gave today at the capitol for the We Say Gay rally organized by the incredible people at .
I am filled with both love of my community and RAGE at the Iowa lawmakers who are stripping away the rights of trans youth in our state who are seeking gender-affirming care. I am enraged and saddened, but never, ever hopeless and never, ever helpless.
WE TAKE CARE OF US.

The 🏳️‍⚧️Rally to Resist 🏳️‍🌈gathering at the capitol today was powerful. I think there were well over a thousand people there, which brought me to tears.
Being trans in Iowa right now is exhausting. I am tired. I am worn down. I am sad. I am angry and afraid - and I’m not even a trans kid in school under many of these threats.
Please continue to show up - continue to voice your opposition to your legislators. Continue to protect trans children.
And please follow orgs doing really great work at the capitol, in schools and in our community to support trans kids:

And please donate to to help expand access to gender-affirming care for trans* Iowans.
Keep fighting. Rest when you need. And come back when you are able. We need you. 🏳️‍⚧️🤍🏳️‍⚧️
