Most of you following along on this feed know me as a wedding photographer, but what some may not know is that I’ve had the opportunity to dive into film creation for my architecture firm, OPN Architects.
Earlier this year I had the privilege of traveling to the community of Flint, Michigan to capture the story of an amazing project - the renovation of the Flint Public Library.
Flint has largely been defined by the water crisis of 2015, but what I love about this story is the hope that has been ignited into the community as a result of a transformed library space. After facing severe socio-economic and social divides, this resilient city has sought to create an aspirational place for their beloved community.
With the help of community stakeholders and the project architect, I created a film that shares this story. Now, the film “Flint Forward” is up for a People's Choice Award for the AIA Film Challenge!
