Another "moon shot"! This evening's show is a "Blue Supermoon", which is bit rare - the color temperature might seem a little warm, but it is actually very accurate. Details seem more defined that the one from this past June. When this shot was taken, the moon was fairly low in the sky. The moon is so much more than a white dot in the sky - I hope you enjoy it!!!

I gave myself a challenge this summer for the last two days of our recent 8-day trip to NM, CO and UT. A little background: we drove to CO to celebrate the life of my sister-in-law, Deb Andrews. Her daughter, Dulcie Willis, did such an amazing job of putting the life celebration together that I thought this might be a cool follow up - Deb loved the US Moutain States with a passion.

My challenge was to take photos of Southern Colorado and 4 of the 5 Utah National parks - Canyonlands, Arches, Bryce Canyon and Zion using a compact mirrorless FF camera with only a 35mm f/2.8 prime lens - no zooming. The idea is to present the beauty of CO and UT in the most simple way possible - I certainly had to move around a lot to capture these images. I want you to feel like you are drinking from a firehose, because that is how I felt while capturing these shots! Again - NO cropping and very little post-capture processing. Yes - these National Parks really look like this!

For some reason, I never get tired of trying to get the perfect moon photo. This one is from last night - 99.7% full. Sony A7Riv, Sony 100-400 mm GM OSS f/4.5-5.6, tripod mounted, manual exposure, ISO 100, f/11, 1/160 sec.
