🚨 A CHANGE TO MY PHOTOGRAPHY PAGE — EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY 🚨
After learning more about the recent federal court ruling involving AI-generated child sexual abuse material, I’ve made a decision that I feel very strongly about:
I will no longer be posting identifiable photos of children’s faces on my personal or photography pages — with or without a signed release.
This isn’t a decision I’m making lightly. As a photographer and, most importantly, as a mom, I cannot ignore the ways that children’s images can potentially be misused with today’s technology.
The recent court ruling has raised serious concerns for me about the limitations of our current laws when it comes to AI-generated abuse material and the privacy and safety of children’s images.
I know that the vast majority of people who view and share my work have nothing but good intentions. But unfortunately, I cannot control who saves an image, where it ends up, or what technology may eventually be used to manipulate it.
So moving forward, I’m choosing to be proactive.
I would rather protect a child’s privacy than risk contributing to a problem I can’t control.
Every child deserves to have their image treated with care, respect, and protection. 🤍
I’m a mom, and I would protect any child the same way I would protect my own.
If anyone would like to read the court documents for themselves, I’ll be sharing them in the comments.
Thank you to everyone who trusts me to photograph your families. This decision comes from a place of love, caution, and wanting to do what I believe is right. 🤍
