Just a few *Golden Hour On a Yacht* Details.

The lighting at this time of day on the boat for Chris & Sarah's wedding was unreal. Everyone was just in awe looking at everything around them. I tried my best to capture the magic that the light created & the instant joy that washed over everyone.

On top of that, Sarah told me one thing she wanted was just candid moments of people doing things - So her album has sprinkled in some of these random portraits of guests enjoying her wedding day & I think it's really special.

The whole time throughout her wedding day I thought to myself with camera in hand, "If I don't photograph this right now, Sarah & Chris will never know this happened!!" & then shot.so.many.photos. Because you truly cannot be everywhere at once on your wedding day, so that's why you have to hire someone like me!

P.S. Yes, Sarah's wedding theme was based off the Parent Trap Wedding. 😍
I got to role-play as Chessy!! Jk, but IYKYK.

MY OFFICIAL THOUGHTS ON BLURRY PHOTOS:

I just love this little blurry photo but here's the TEA.. ☕
it causes a lot of drama in the photo world!

There are a lot of photography professionals that are haters on including the blurry photos in a final album - I have close coworkers that even say, "it shows you don't know what you're doing" or "makes us all look bad" or "It's a weird trend, it looks like an accident"

But my official stance is that.. accident or not

I reallly love a good Blur 😍
I even have edits I do where I purposefully make them a lil blurry!
That's because more than a photographer - I'm also an artist.

& It's obvious to me that Blur can show -->
Movement, joy, memory, nostalgia, love, raw emotion

So yea, I'm going to throw the purposefully blurry and the accidentally blurry photos in your album if they're beautiful. Because to me - sometimes it shows the true moment & it also shows that sometimes life happens & Hanna is a human that makes mistakes

I just love black and white photos so much. That's it. That's the post.

Sarah & Chris's wedding was so special for me. My first (but not the last!) wedding on a Yacht ! It felt like such a blessing to be able to be the one they chose to capture this day. I will certainly never forget it.

Sarah & Chris Planned some really great moments-

Getting Ready at a Hotel + First Looks.
Family Photos at the michigan Central Station
Ceremony on the lawn overlooking Lake St. Clair
Reception + First Dance under the Ambassador Bridge

I love to put together these Carousels so you can see how I truly do capture your wedding from start to finish & try to get artsy & traditional photos each step of the way.

I'm looking to add a few more weddings to my calendar in 2026.
Reach out if you are getting married, or share my page to someone recently engaged!

Best,
Hanna

Look at all these blondies!!

What makes this even more special is that I've known Jackie since elementary school, watching her be a mom is really really really cool.

P.S. I'm only taking on a handful more families for fall this year.
If you were thinking about scheduling something, reach out!

Hey Zack & Taylor..
Same time, same place- next year ok?
(Ya know, for your wedding!!)

P.S. This couple had the amazing idea to shoot their engagement photos at their wedding venue. The venue (of course) didn't charge them - we went late on a weeknight. I'm so excited to be able to take these photos & then come back in a year to be able to replicate them in their wedding outfits! EEEEK!

My business started with Seniors.

I was a Freshman in HS when someone paid me for the first time to take their senior pictures. I remember feeling highly unqualified. They had their license (I did not) so they drove us around & I snapped photos at a ton of locations. My first paying gig! I made $50.

By Junior year, I had photographed a lot of things & was making more money. That was 2010. When Hanna Nest Photography was founded. (It was Rustic Refresh back then!!!!! DO YOU GUYS REMEMBER!??)

By Senior year I had joined yearbook and I was photographing all the events. People knew I would be there. I met a lot of really amazing people and this is some of the best moments from HS. I took thousands and thousands of photographs. I was at every.single.football.game.. -- So then some of those football parents hired me to take their sons senior photos. Word of mouth spread.

One thing led to another and by College I started photographing seniors & then my friends from High School who started getting married (Jake Traynor and Ashley Traynor!!) they gave me my first "big break" and ironically - Ashley had to CONVINCE me to photograph her wedding. I was like no no I love you but, I'm not qualified & she literally said - yes you are and I am going to pay you.

Seeing a project come together from a design you created in your mind *is art* and also magic & WOWOWOWWKWW! 🤯🥳

Something you should know is that when I purchased this MCM home - 99% of its furniture came with it.

I was thrilled because as a photographer, an artist and creative - I am really drawn to specific design periods and mid-century IS MY FAVORITE ONE! It was filled with amazing pieces that are now *mine* 🥹

When I saw this MCM waterfall dresser in one of the bedrooms a part of me knew that I wanted to make it into a bathroom vanity with a sink - the only problem? The only teeny tiny bathroom was never going to fit this dresser…

But the solution presented itself as it always does when *a house picks you* / *when a house is sent to you through the universe*

There was this perfect nook in the master bedroom - I slid the dresser there right after I ripped out the carpet - a perfect fit (perhaps this is what this nook was built for originally??)

The next day, I went to the Habitat for Humanity ReStore and saw this amazing vessel sink -for $25. Originally $400+ from !! instantly knew what had to happen. Marrying the two. The curves fit one another.

Some people think this *MCM dresser to vanity sink* in a master bedroom *even though it isn’t a bathroom* idea is whacky. But in a house with only one bathroom??

I knew that now & in the future (when I have that husband and kids!) we would never be mad about this extra sink. (Manifesting😍)

I love it so much. It’s custom & perfect for my space. The front will have the original drawer put on so it truly will look just like meant to be together 😍

Special thanks to my remodeler, handyman and renovation master for making this possible. From day one he saw the vision and made it happen.
