The feels near-permanent in Detroit, a true legacy business and fixture that has earned its place through consistency, atmosphere, and standards that still matter. And if only these walls could talk…

We got to spend more time than usual in the kitchen with gracious Chef RJ and see the work behind the curtain: beautiful tuna being trimmed, foie gras broken down and seared hot, wagyu meatballs, and some of the most gorgeously marbled steaks I’ve ever seen.

Then you step back into that dimly lit, vibey dining room and it feels like a time warp in the best possible way.

As writer put it, it remains “a grand old world vibe.” Exactly right. Detroit is better for places like this.

The iconic red light in a sea of blue-tile sets the tone for some serious fun to be had.
With no gas line here, steaks are slow-cooked high above the flame before being seared to perfection on the grill.
Chef , two-time honoree, has a Latin, flame-kissed spin on the conventional steakhouse that hits a certain spot others simply can’t emulate.
The man brought Argentina to Core City and Detroit hasn’t been the same since.

Brass. Emerald. A bar paneled in mango wood. Birmingham bougey meets old-soul Americana. Chef Brandon gave us his afternoon and held nothing back — you feel the quality of the operation just walking through the doors. Beautiful marbling on stunning cuts of meat, and sides that speak entirely for themselves.

Here’s a last taste of the journey in photographing this year’s awardee for ‘s Restaurant of the Year, .

My photography is a way of honoring craft—mine and everyone else’s—shaped by years of practice, focus, collaboration, and the challenges we overcome.

In hospitality, that purpose becomes ikigai—a collective vision that manifests in every plate, every gesture.

Precision and order in the kitchen, but also laughter. Intention behind the bar, and with personality. A dining experience built on refinement, warmth, and a serious commitment to hospitality which only comes with a collaborative culmination of experience.

Wishing a massive and well-deserved cheers and congratulations to the whole team at !

Last summer, I had the pleasure of photographing some of metro Detroit’s finest cigar lounges for the June 2024 issue of ✨

From the sleek, inclusive vibe at The Loft Cigar Lounge in downtown Farmington to the classic comfort of Churchill’s in Birmingham, this story dives into the community and craft behind the cigar culture. Words by my badass friend, !

These spaces are about more than ci**rs. They’re about ritual, atmosphere, and connection. Whether you’re a seasoned smoker or just curious, the right lounge sets the tone: low-key luxury, warm conversations, and a perfectly paired drink.

Earlier this year, I collaborated with the stellar team at on a series of images that distill the essence of the concept for their launch. One of my favorite parts of being a photographer is stepping into different worlds, and using my passion, experience, and craft to showcase (and taste) someone else’s.

Sausage party, Detroit-style, anyone? 🍕 🕺🏻
Here’s some recent work for and their frozen CPG line.
My crew and I meticulously matched the angle and lighting to be consistent with other existing brand assets while auditioning over a dozen different slices to get to the winner. There was no shortage of pizza on set. Keep an eye out for these pies of joy in the frozen aisle!
