>say `I'm back` then go silent for almost a week<
Anyway here's some film I shot at Electric Forest the other weekend. When I came back from Florence and Hangout I didn't have any solid job leads, and had a pretty real mental breakdown. I was turning 26, feeling pretty useless, and generally didn't know what to do. So I signed up to work Forest because I hadn't been since 2012. It helped me look forward to something, to focus on a goal, but then cos passed and I was distraught again. It's been a pretty ridiculous past three months, but it's alright. I'm looking at things in a different light now and it seems like my optimism has come back.•

I hate it when I want to put horizontal and vertical shots into a gallery, but don't want to sacrifice the crop on either. Oh well, here's a vertical that ruined the gallery, but I couldn't not post it because it's probably my favorite shot so far on this trip.

Stylists, pls shoot with me, I’m like useless at putting together the final look after putting together a moodboard. Alex killed this shoot and it helped me sooo much.

last time I was in Europe I shot a lot of buildings, so these types of shots basically defined the beginnings of my architectural photography exploration. Now that I’m back I’m trying to build on what I started and hopefully find a new way to shoot the buildings I enjoy here.

well this is weird.
as of yesterday my part-time gig let me go, so I'm totally unemployed again. for those that don't know my situation, it was something I took up for a few different reasons, but was at it's base was to supplement my freelance career. I was already in a precarious financial point (thus the $50 special) but now my safety net has been cut loose as well. So yeah, by all means I should be in a pretty precarious spot, but I'm not feeling too anxious about it. I have some interviews happening so that's helpful, and at the end of the day it's probably for the best, even though it kinda hit me out of nowhere. All I could really use in this uneasy time is some help if you're able to. I had some free time with work for projects, but now my schedule is wide-open, so let's shoot. Ideally it's paid work, but I'm also open to interesting concepts and personal work because honestly it helps me calm down. I know that freelance photography isn't my money-maker, and that's ok, so let's make some cool stuff so that I don't sit at home and think about all the things I'm not doing, ok? cool. thank you.

//what I'm thankful for? Probably the opportunities I've been presented, the friends I've made, the ability to do what I want and the patience to be able to wait for what's best. I'm thankful that I'm in a situation that's, in comparison, not all that bad. Sure problems are relative, but I know that mine are really minuscule even though they feel like so much to me. So I'm thankful for being able to stress out about the little things, because it means the big things aren't causing me trouble.

Families good to, but I thank them constantly.

//something I realized when my style started to focus is where a lot of my inspiration and guidance came from - skateboarding. I realized that a lot of the spots I wanted to shoot could also be a great skate spot, a lot of the angles I took would make a great wide shot in a video. Basically I realized I want to do some skate work since it's where all of my urban work is rooted.

//In the same style as thanksgiving, it seems as though winter has come early this year. It's snowed like 5 out of the past 7 days, and even though they're pretty much just dustings that melt off by the end of the day, they still count dammit. It's crazy how it's snowed this early, and was in the 80's until late October. Those nice mild fall days were pretty much non-existent this year. oh well, on to the next one.
