The room grew silent as David grabbed Theresa’s hand and the microphone and proceeded to lead her to the middle of the dancefloor. David explained that he first met Theresa’s family at a basketball game and Theresa got up to get something, leaving him alone with her dad. He remembered that Theresa had told him that her dad had a love for a specific type of Depression era vintage juke box, so he struck up a conversation about that with him, which was fun because he loves all things mechanical and fixing things. Theresa’s father mentioned that he wanted to save up for, find, and buy that vintage juke box one day.********************************************************************************************************************
David and Theresa spent a long time searching for that vintage juke box, which was very hard to find. When they came across one, it was in another state and in a state of disrepair. They took a long road trip and got the juke box with the intention of fixing it up and surprising Theresa’s father with it on their wedding day. Months and months had gone by and the juke box sat there, and unfortunately, Theresa’s dad passed away. With so much happening in their lives, unbeknownst to Theresa, David snuck away and worked on the vintage juke box in the time leading up to their wedding.****************************************************************************************************************************************************************
David, in the middle of the dance floor, pulled off the wooden cover to reveal the juke box he restored in honor of Theresa’s dad at the wedding! There was not a dry eye in the room. Theresa, overwhelmed with emotion, crumpled to her knees on the dance floor. David led her over to the juke box, inserted nickels, and the juke box came to life. It lit up and filled the room with glorious song as Theresa and David danced in honor of her late father.******************************************************************************************************************************************************************
Theresa and David’s wedding was nothing short of heartfelt, sentimental, and touching. Such thought and care went into each detail of their day. Theresa incorporated her late father’s writing of her and David’s name onto their wedding invitation and stationary used throughout. David also designed and handcrafted their wedding bands, which Theresa saw for the first time when he slipped the ring on her finger.*******************************************************************************************************************************************************************
Different flowers have had significant meaning in Theresa’s life and when it came time to decide on flowers for her bouquet, she knew all of the different types of flowers that she wanted. Come to find out, they bloomed at different times throughout the year. That didn’t deter Theresa, instead, she found an artist who makes beautifully intricate paper flowers. So Theresa was able to have a bouquet with blue irises that were on the trailhead of her proposal, peonies from her mom and grandma’s garden, sunflowers from her travels in Europe, white rose of sharon from their garden, and marigolds from her grandma’s garden, along with many others that so wonderfully captured the various parts of her upbringing and life journey so far.***********************************************************************************************************************************************************************
The Piquette Plant was the perfect setting for this couple’s reception since David is a Model T enthusiast and was able to have his Model T at the plant for the party. He is also a member of the Piquette Plant’s Model T Club, “The Piquette T’s”, following in his grandfather’s footsteps, who was one of the founding members and donors of the Piquette Plant Preservation Project. David and Theresa also adopted one of the Model T’s at the Piquette Plant.**********************************************************************************************************************************************************
