Update: It's been a while since anything new on this page has been posted. This page used to be named Amanda Beth Photography. I have changed as a photographer and a person. I want to make it into a real business that I can take anywhere I go. 1st change my new business name is Beloved Photography. The reason why is God gave me the name. My name in Latin actually means " Beloved." I believe everyone is truly Beloved by God. There is no one I will encounter as a photographer that isn't a beautiful masterpiece made by a brilliant loving God. Second, I made a website www.arbelovedphotography.com. I want to make it easier for people to find and consider me. I am a promising growing photographer. Even though I am not as expensive as others in town. I have the potential to be just as unique and amazing.
I haven't been sowing into this business for a while because I have spent the past few summers serving at Fahocha bible camp. It is good because camp has grown me as a photographer. It's been a special place for me. That season is over. God gave me direction for this business. He's part of the reason why I'm back. Two issues have held me up.
1. I couldn't afford a senior portrait growing up. I was one of six kids in my family. Nice photography can be expensive. Most photographers are only interested in big fish. They are not wrong. They need to support themselves and their business. It's logically the best thing to do. Having cheap prices can make you look like you are less awesome than someone else. I hate the idea of underselling myself. I also hate turning down someone like me, who just needs a few nice senior photos, or the couple graduating with college debt in need of a wedding photographer within budget. I hope to always leave space to help someone who is tight on their budget. On the flip side, I also need to make my work worth my time.
2. S*x sells.
Photographers sometimes display work that sexualizes young women and men. This bothers me specifically in Senior photography. I want to honor my client's wishes. There are some types of photography I don't want anything to do with. Wedding and Engagement photography is a little different, but still.
Am learning what type of photographer I am. After a few weeks of analysis, I have come to the conclusion. I am a videographer who likes to take photographs. I like to capture authentic physical expressions. I will ask couples to do an activity together like a slow dance. I capture the motions of that moment. I look for gems within a plethora of photographs. I love photographs like this because they are rooted in intimacy. For this reason, my favorite type of photography is engagement and weddings. That of course doesn't mean I am not great at other aspects of photography. This is what I love to do as a photographer.
These are some of the issues that have been bothering me. I trust that it going to be okay. God is good. I know this is kind of a long update. I know this page has been asleep for a long time. Thank You for keeping this page in your liked pages. I really appreciate it. If you need a photographer. I am a lovely gale to consider.
