Not every bo***ir story needs to reveal everything to make a statement. 🖤

She gave me complete creative freedom, so I designed this session from the mood board to the final frame…Old Hollywood glamour with a modern, editorial edge. Black velvet thigh-high boots, a luxurious fur coat, dramatic lighting and just enough mystery to leave you wanting more.

Bo***ir isn’t about becoming someone else. It’s about seeing the confident, powerful version of yourself that was already there.

One photographer. Two sessions. Absolutely no overlap in the vibe. 😂

After an entire week of East Texas rain reschedules, I finally got back behind the camera and apparently the day required RANGE.

First was an editorial bo***ir session in the studio. My client remains completely off camera because her privacy will always matter more than content, but you can see the part clients are often most nervous about: me talking her through every pose, movement and tiny adjustment. You never have to arrive knowing what to do…that’s my job.

Then it was straight into Zara’s Dr Pepper-themed 12th birthday session, where the energy, location and creative direction could not have been more different.

We finished both sessions, beat the rain by minutes, and I ended the day showered, in pajamas and officially out of creative gear shifts.

The range? Impressive. The remaining social battery? Absolutely nonexistent. 👋

This senior session was golden…until we set it on fire. 🔥

Come behind the scenes of Lola’s senior twirler session, from directing each pose and capturing the shot to seeing the finished portraits appear on screen.

Lola is the captain of the Diboll High School twirlers and the only fire baton twirler on the team, so there was no chance we were ending this session without lighting those batons. The final fire portrait instantly became one of my favorites and apparently, all I could manage in the moment was, “Ooh, fire!” 😂

Watching the finished image come together from what was happening behind my camera is exactly why I love creating these videos. A senior session with me is more than standing in front of a camera and smiling. It’s direction, movement, experimenting with ideas and creating something that feels specific to the senior in front of me.

And Lola? She absolutely owned this one. 🔥

What the first few weeks at home really feel like. 🤍

A behind-the-scenes look at the Lyday family’s in-home newborn session, captured through my Meta glasses and paired with the finished photographs.

No studio setups. No baskets or elaborate props. Just baby Lane James in the nursery prepared especially for him, his parents soaking in those newborn snuggles, and proud big brother Case loving on the newest member of their family.

That is what I love about documentary-style newborn photography. It preserves more than what your family looked like, it creates a visual record of what this fleeting season actually felt like.

The feeding breaks, the pacifier, the tiny details, the way your baby fits against your chest, and the beautiful adjustment of becoming a family of four. Nothing forced and nothing pretending life with a newborn is perfectly polished. Just your family, in your home, exactly as you are.

From freshman rep to senior captain. 🥹🔥

What better way to kick off football season than with Lola...Diboll High School’s twirler captain and the only fire baton twirler on the team?

Lola has been part of my senior rep team since her freshman year, and I genuinely cannot believe we are already here. Senior year. It feels like I blinked and the precious freshman I first met became this confident, absolutely beautiful young woman.

We photographed her in her twirler uniform last year, but of course we had to do it again in the captain uniform. We went all in...on the field, up on the goalpost (and safely back down 😂), and with the fire batons. Those fire shots ended up being some of my absolute favorites from the entire session. She was made for them.

Lola is so special to me. She is beautiful, talented, incredibly sweet and quite literally the copy-and-paste version of her mama, Abby. Getting to photograph her throughout high school and now document this final season is one of those full-circle moments that reminds me just how quickly time passes.

I absolutely adore you, Lola, and I’m so proud of you. Here’s to your senior year, captain. Make it unforgettable. ❤️🔥

I am not a traditional posed newborn photographer and I’m completely okay with that. 🤍

If you’re looking for perfectly posed newborn portraits with your baby tucked into a basket, surrounded by props and carefully arranged into every position, I’m probably not the right photographer for you.

But if you want to remember what those first few weeks at home actually felt like...the baby in the nursery you spent months preparing, the proud big brother climbing onto the bed, the quiet moments with Mom and Dad, the snuggles, the feeding breaks, and even the pacifier that never stayed far away....this is where my heart is.

I absolutely love documentary-style, in-home newborn photography. These sessions aren’t about creating a picture-perfect version of life with a newborn. They’re about preserving a visual representation of this season exactly as it is: tender, exhausting, beautiful, emotional and gone far too quickly.

I first met the Lyday family during their extended family session last fall. In February, Kiley reached out to tell me she was pregnant and wanted me to photograph her family at home after the baby arrived. She booked the session, and I have been waiting ever since for little Lane James to make his appearance.

And goodness, he was worth the wait. 🤍

Lane is absolutely precious, although he made it perfectly clear that he preferred having either his pacifier or a bottle available at all times. Honestly, newborn priorities. 😂 Big brother Case was just as precious and so proud of his new baby brother. Watching him love on Lane gave us some of the sweetest moments from the entire session.

And Kiley...there is something so beautiful about a mother in those first weeks after having a baby. That softness, strength and unmistakable glow cannot be recreated. She is genuinely stunning, and the love she has for her boys is written all over every image.

Kiley has been an absolute dream from her first message to the day of the session. This entire family is incredibly sweet, and I genuinely loved getting to document them again during such an important chapter of their lives.

Kiley and family, thank you for welcoming me into your home and trusting me to preserve what this season feels like for you. I hope you love these photographs as much as I do, because this in-home newborn session is already going down as one of my absolute favorites. 🤍

The moment Madeline entered the world. 🤍

At 9:15 a.m., after one incredible push, Katie and her family met the beautiful little girl they had been waiting for.

This birth film combines professional video footage with the photographs captured throughout her delivery…the anticipation, Katie’s strength, Dad’s reaction, Madeline’s first breath and the very first moments of her life.

That is what makes birth photography and videography so meaningful. These moments happen quickly, and in the emotion of it all, so many little details can become a blur. Being able to preserve not only what happened but also what it felt like gives a family something they can return to for the rest of their lives.

Being trusted to document a baby’s arrival is something I will never take lightly. Every birth reminds me what an incredible honor it is to be invited into such a raw, intimate and life-changing moment.

Welcome to the world, beautiful Madeline. You were loved long before you arrived. 🤍

Yesterday, I shared the moment Madeline entered the world. Today, we get to slow down and take in the beautiful quiet that came after. 🤍

I returned to the hospital the following morning for Madeline’s Fresh 48 newborn session. She was all cleaned up, perfectly content in her blanket and somehow even more beautiful than the day before. She truly is one of the most gorgeous newborns and she looks so much like her big brother, Gus.

Mom was doing wonderfully, and Miss Madeline was perfectly happy with our arrangement…until I unwrapped her. 😂

Katie had chosen a special outfit for her newborn pictures, but Madeline made it very clear that she did not approve of being removed from her warm blanket for a wardrobe change. We took the pictures quickly, acknowledged that she was in charge, and promptly wrapped her back up. Peace was restored.

We captured Madeline with her mom, with her dad, with big brother Gus and all four of them together as a brand-new family of four. Gus may have originally requested a baby brother, and he was still a little unsure about holding her in front of everyone, but the way he looked at her said everything. I have a feeling these two are going to be something special.

Katie, thank you for trusting me to document this entire season for your family, from the gender reveal and maternity session to Madeline’s birth and Fresh 48. You have been an absolute dream client, and I have genuinely loved every part of telling this story with you.

It has been such an honor watching your family grow and preserving these moments from the very beginning. I wish all four of you nothing but the absolute best as you begin this beautiful new chapter together. Welcome home, sweet Madeline. 🤍

Welcome to the world, Madeline. 🤍

Katie’s East Texas birth story began with an induction on August 23, earlier than originally planned. I went on call that evening and spent most of the night half-awake, worried I might miss the message telling me it was time.

At 6:30 the next morning, I checked in. Katie was already dilated to five, so I grabbed my camera bags and headed to the hospital. When I arrived, she hadn’t even received her epidural yet and somehow, she was completely calm. You honestly would not have known she was in active labor.

About 10–15 minutes later, she received her epidural. By 9:00 a.m., the nurse checked her and quickly realized that baby Madeline was right there and ready to be born. Everything happened so much faster than any of us expected.

The doctor came in, Katie pushed one time, and at 9:15 a.m., Madeline was here...beautiful, healthy and looking so much like her big brother, Gus.

Katie, you made childbirth look absolutely effortless. I’m still in awe of the strength and girl power you showed in that room. From the time I arrived until Madeline was born, barely an hour and a half had passed. She was ready, and apparently, she did not believe in wasting anyone’s time. 😂

The more births I photograph, the more deeply I love birth photography. There is nothing staged or rehearsed about it. It is raw, emotional and completely real...the anticipation in the room, a mother’s strength, a father watching his baby take that first breath, parents seeing their child for the very first time, and the privilege of capturing that baby’s first photographs.

Being invited into a moment this intimate is something I never take lightly. It is genuinely one of the greatest honors of my work and, without a doubt, one of my favorite stories to document.

I returned the following day for Madeline’s Fresh 48 session, after everyone had time to rest and settle in and when big brother Gus came to meet her. He may still be processing the fact that the baby brother he requested turned out to be a baby sister, but I have a feeling she will have him completely wrapped around her tiny finger soon enough. 🤍
