One of my favorite parts of photographing weddings isn’t always the big moments.
It’s the little ones.
The way a mom looks at her daughter during the first dance. The way a dad watches his son standing at the altar. The hugs and congratulations immediately after the ceremony. The friends laughing together at the reception. The little moments between the couple when they forget we’re even there.
Those are the pictures I find myself looking for throughout the entire day.
Because your wedding photos shouldn’t only tell the story of the two of you. They should remind you of the people who were there loving you, celebrating you, and making that day what it was.
We try to pay attention to those things. We remember who’s Grandma, who’s the brother, who traveled across the country to be there, and who spent the entire reception making everyone laugh.
Years from now, you might remember your first kiss.
But you might also want to remember the look on your mom’s face while she watched it happen.
That’s why we photograph the little things, too.
