Yesterday brought some incredible signs of progress for Scarlett. After adjusting her pain medications, the goal has been to keep her comfortable without excessive sedation—and when her pain is controlled, she’s showing remarkable improvement.
She was able to communicate with her occupational therapist, respond to questions, recognize what happened to her, and even show her feisty personality with some memorable comments. One of the biggest moments of the day was telling her parents “I love you” and signing “I love you” back to her dad.
While she still cannot sit, stand, or walk independently due to pain, dizziness, and balance issues, today was a major step forward and an encouraging reminder of how hard she’s fighting.
Please continue to pray for Scarlett’s healing and recovery, and keep her family in your prayers as well. We also ask for prayers ahead of Monday’s preliminary hearing—for wisdom, discernment, courage, and strength for everyone involved as they seek justice.

As many of you already know - Scarlett was the child who was hit by an impaired driver in Sylvia on Tuesday (06/23); she was riding her bike with her brother. As of today - she is still at Vanderbilt.
