Time for the 3rd installment of the "Dodge City: Then and Now" project. To be fair, I did say I didn't know how often these would happen when I started.

The Long Branch Saloon at Boot Hill Museum 1960s? and today April 28, 2026. The bar used to be on the East Wall, and there was no inside connection to the Hoover Cigar Store next door. The Long Branch Saloon at Boot Hill Museum was built in 1958. One of the first 6 buildings built on the Front Street Replica. Depending on how you count, this is the 3rd or 4th Long Branch Saloon.
1. The original opened by Collie and Manion and sold to Beeson and Harris
2 the rebuild after the fire in the 1880s owned by Harris and Short, then sold to Drake and Warren
3. The Long Branch on Gunsmoke owned of course by Miss Kitty.
4. The current, and longest running Long Branch Saloon.

Operating continuously since 1958, the Long Branch Saloon at Boot Hill Museum is the oldest bar still operating in Dodge. It has seen HUNDREDS of THOUSANDS of people come through the doors to have a drink, watch a show, learn some history, and make memories. My favorite Long Branch Saloon fact? This replica, is now old enough on it's own to actually be considered historic!
