I have an idea!

Did you know this trick?
Ever fumble to pull your SD card with a grip on the camera?

In this one I show you how to get the card out with the grip attached. This is my Leica M11 Black Paint running the FlexGrip in Black Paint too.

Here is the thing. When you add a grip you add a little length, and these cameras already put the SD card way too close to the edge. So pinching the card out with two fingers gets cumbersome fast. There is a better way, and it only takes one finger.

Watch the clip. I flick the card and let it jump. Remember there is a latch, so when you press the card in it releases, and there is a spring behind it that holds tension. So in one single motion you press the card, the latch releases, and the spring pushes the card right out into your finger.

One thing you have to remember. Do this with the camera facing down. Otherwise that spring launches the card away from you and onto the floor. Face down, one motion, done in a fraction of a second.

I have been pulling my cards this way for the longest time and it has been safe and reliable for me. Faster than two fingers, and no fighting the edge of the grip.

How do you get your card out with a grip on? Tell us in the comments.

Do you find your M ergonomic enough every single time?

The HotGrip adds the natural support the camera lacks, especially if you are gripping it all day. It makes portrait mode easier and gives you real control with heavy lenses. But the part that sets it apart is the included pass through shoe. You still get a working shoe up top, so you can fire manual flash with the grip on. No trade off, no choosing between grip and light.

Then add the EyeKup, designed specifically for the M-EV1, and shooting in the harshest light becomes second nature. It blocks the stray light that washes out the finder, so your eye sees the frame instead of the glare. It also raises the perceived contrast through the finder, which makes it easier to read what you are actually looking at. And the contact surface keeps finger smudges and scratches off the glass, right where you least want them.

Two small pieces that fix two everyday problems, working together on the same body.

Big or small. Comment below 👇

By now we make these little guys in just about every size. But the one Gaston Shutters keeps going back to is the little 7.25mm. And the reason we added it to the site. (Like if we didn’t have enough options already…)
It basically matches the diameter of the shutter button, so it sits flush and clean with nothing extra hanging over the edge. Feels really tactile under the finger, and every press lands with more determination. You know exactly when the shutter fires.

That is the whole point of a Shutter Topper. A little more surface, a little more feedback, and a shutter press that feels deliberate instead of vague. Small change, but it is one of those things you notice on every single frame once it is on there.

You can find them all, including this Black Chrome, on the site. Different sizes, different finishes, so you can match it to how you shoot and to the body you run.

Which size are you running, or are you still shooting the bare button? Tell us in the comments.

Black Swamp. A bold new FlexCase created exclusively for the Leica M11-D.

The centerpiece is the deep black crocodile-embossed leather, carefully selected and hand tailored around a precision-machined FlexCase plate. Its strong texture gives every angle a different character while complementing the all-black M11-D.

The case includes a concealed AirTag compartment, easy access to the battery and SD card, and a fully lined interior to protect the camera body.

Leatherwork, precision machining, and thoughtful function, brought together in one distinctive FlexCase.

What do you think of the Black Swamp texture?

The amount of hours that went into this, almost broke us…
This started as a slab of aluminum.

The FlexPlate for the Leica SL3 is machined down to the micron in two operations, then tumbled, sandblasted, anodized and assembled by hand. What comes out is a plate that improves how the SL3 feels in your hand without adding bulk to a camera that already has enough of it.

You get an Arca Profile machined right into the base, so it drops onto a tripod or a clamp with nothing extra to bolt on. Two emergency SD card slots, because running out of storage on a shoot should never end the day. A side lug for a strap. And it all sits on a modular plate, which is the part we are most excited about. This is the foundation. Upcoming modules build it into a full rig as your needs grow.

Here is the honest part. We are taking a few extra weeks to get this right. We could have shipped it already, but a plate that touches your SL3 every time you pick it up has to be correct, not close. So we are holding it a little longer to make it perfect.

Thank you for the patience. It matters, and we do not take it for granted.

Which module do you want to see first on this plate? Tell us in the comments.

Grip or no grip? 👇
You asked for the grip, so here it is.

When we showed the first FlexCase prototypes, a lot of you came back with the same request. Add a grip. This is that version, and now you can see exactly how it looks and sits with a hand grip on the front.

The case carries the same plate as the FlexCase, so you still get the concealed Arca Profile at the base. The grip adds a little more length to the camera, and that extra length is what solves the pinky situation. Instead of your little finger hanging off the bottom with nowhere to go, you get a full grip with every finger on the camera. It is genuinely comfortable to hold.

There is a second thing the grip fixes. With the grip on, the camera does not tip forward the way it did on the version without one. Set it down on a table with a lens mounted and it stays put instead of nosediving. That was a happy result of the added geometry, and once you shoot with it you notice the difference right away.

So now we need to decide which route to pursue. With grip or without grip. Both work, both feel good in the hand, and they suit different shooters. Some of you want the smallest possible footprint. Others want something to actually hold onto through a long day.

We hope to have this out very soon.

Let us know in the comments below, grip or no grip? That is genuinely how we decide what goes into production.

It’s the little things you may never notice. Until you see how your FlexCase is made.

Today, we’re down to the details.

One of the final touches inside our Miami shop is applying the rubber anti-skid pads to each FlexCase aluminum plate, carefully placed by hand, one by one.

They may be small, but they have a job to do. They help create secure contact between the camera and the plate while protecting the contact points.

This 12-second Reel is just a tiny glimpse of what happens in-house every day.

Machining. Leather preparation. Stitching. Edge finishing. Assembly. And then the smallest details that bring everything together.

Because when we make something for your Leica, the details you barely see still matter.

What part of the FlexCase build should we show you next?
