Dating after 50, 60, or 70 seems daunting, and not one of my clients ever thinks they can take a decent picture. I let them know THAT is NOT their job, it's mine. The mission, when a client comes to me for a specific purpose, is to serve that requirement with excellence, and then offer a little bit more as well, something they might not have thought of. That starts with asking questions... this shoot was for his dating profile, so the questions started with the most simple, and important... "what of you, do you want to share with her? He wanted some shots that felt professional, and some that felt like they were more spontaneous, like someone had a really good phone camera, and just caught a cool shot that felt authentic, but looked really good. I enjoy these challenges, because the story we're telling is simple, personal, and has a great adventure linked to it... like finding your romantic partner. Then the weight of that intention must be released, and I simply hunt for authenticity, for the promise of connection, of capturing someone's glace for an instant... a glance exchanged, that can lead to a lifetime.
