I was very fortunate and privileged today to get my second Covid vaccine. Please, please, please, if you are able to get one, make an appointment and go do it! The more people that are vaccinated the sooner we reach herd immunity, which means we are able to protect not only ourselves, but people who aren’t able to be vaccinated as well.

Also, please advocate (or keep advocating) for these vaccines to be accessible in other countries. It’s not okay for the US to hoard vaccines and the materials to make them. This is an egregious injustice, but we have the power to change it. Contact your representatives, sign petitions, correct misinformation when you hear it/see it. Together is the only way we get through this!

If I can help anyone get the information they need to feel confident in getting the vaccine themselves, to correct misinformation, or to advocate for vaccine equity, please let me know! I definitely don’t have all the answers, but I’m happy to help as much as I can. 💪🏻😎

“My heart is the moon, and my eyes the sun.”

I found a brand new box of French words at Savers, which I thought would be a fun way to practice and learn the language more. Fun fact: the thing that the magnets are on is a pizza pan, also bought secondhand, that I colored a stencil on to make it a little more ✨fancy.✨Another fun fact, craft adhesive works better than painters tape to keep the stencil in place, just be careful when you clean it off to not wash off the sharpie. (Thanks for the tip from my mom, Kristin Fedorchak, the master crafter.)

Moral of the story, creativity can be inspired by anything! I didn’t have a place to put the magnets, so I made one. 😃

“Mother Nature, why is it snowing in mid-April?”

April 16, 2021, iPhone. If you needed an example of climate change, here you are. The fluctuations in warm and cold temperatures harm plants, and especially animals who are coming out of hibernation or migrating back up north, because at this time of year they no longer have their winter adaptations. So what do we do? As individuals, some simple solutions are to drive less if you are able; you could ride share, walk, bike, or take public transit if any of these are available/feasible to you. This way there is less gas being burned and less CO2 being released into the atmosphere. We can use less single use plastics, as they are produced from crude oil. We can buy things from thrift stores to reduce how many things need to be manufactured brand new and how many things get sent to developing countries that overwhelm their economies (it’s amazing the treasures you find in thrift stores). We can compost and grow foods, to replenish soil and prevent food scraps from creating methane in landfills, and so much more. Ultimately, a lot of this change has to come from policy level actions, so that the individual actions are more accessible and feasible systemically, but please also remember that any small actions that you take, do make a difference.

Side note: The vase is from Apotheca Flowers, the cutest coffee and plant shop in New Hampshire (or anywhere, not biased... 😉)

Sometimes, the sunset makes it look like the sky is on fire, and we can’t help but watch those sun beams in complete awe and amazement. I did, and it seems that guy on the beach did too.

Did you notice him? I didn’t either until I was looking back at these photos later on. I also want to notice how, at least to me, the pixelation of the zoomed in version looks like a painting on an old canvas. So, in total, we have three observations to enjoy in one simple moment. I hope you can find these simple observations in your life to watch in awe and amazement of too. 🌅

Snowy days are perfect for bird seed. ❄️

Good morning Black-Capped Chickadees, Red-Breasted Nuthatches, *Tufted Titmice (updated)* and (I think) White-Breasted Nuthatches as well! If you are better at identifying birds, please let me know if I got them all or if there are any that I missed! This is a long video for just birds eating bird seed, but I hope it gives some calmness and some joy to whomever watches it. You’d never know that that chunk of bird seed was once a bell shape, they love it so much!

Taken earlier this morning with my cellphone perched on the upper deck.

Water is a powerful force. Isinglass River after Christmas rain and melted snow, you can see the flooding, the sun in the trees silhouetted on the water, and how fast the water is moving even though these are still photos.
