Jake Moreland has been involved in the wedding industry for about 16 years. He started Two Birds Photography in 2008 and has never looked back. Jake has a calming, centered presence and will confidently and quietly capture your day. When not photographing weddings and portraits Jake is usually hanging out with his three boys, hiking, making art, or photographing random things with old film cameras

Roxanna and Nick's wedding took place a couple of weeks ago at St Mary's of the Angels in Chicago, Illinois. This church is a stunning place to get married and the cathedral takes your breath away. I love that Roxanna and Nick took off in a vintage car on their way to their reception which took place at Mon Ami Gabi in Lincoln Park. What a beautiful day for a wedding! Congratulations Roxanna and Nick!

Rachel and Bob got married the other weekend at a fabulous venue called Beatnik in West Town, Chicago. The food was delicious and the vibes were awesome. I recently had the honor of photographing Michelle and Morgan's gorgeous July wedding at The Farmhouse venue in Plainfield, Illinois. Everything was picture perfect and I had so much fun creatively exploring and using all the different places the Farmhouse had to offer for portraits. I also have to mention I had a blast photographing their reception. Michelle and Morgan know how to have a good time! A huge thanks to Michelle and Morgan for having me be a part of their day!

Mary Kate and Noah's beautiful outdoor summer wedding took place at one of my favorite venues called Armour House in Lake Forest, Illinois. Their ceremony was held in front of the pond on the lawn. I love the dramatic and long processional to the ceremony. It always seems to create an air anticipation for the vows. Their reception was held directly afterwards surrounded by the gorgeous marble interior of the Armour House. I'm not always able to stay to the very end of the night but I had so much fun sending Mary Kate and Noah off with a sparkler exit. Huge thanks to the amazing Sam Callahan for being my second photographer at this event.

Caitlin and Paul's picture perfect wedding ceremony took place at the gorgeous SS. Cyril and Methodius Church in Lemont, Illinois. Their reception was held directly afterward nearby at Cog Hill Golf Club. As soon as we got to the golf club, we took a ride in a golf cart for portraits in front of their barn on the golf course before getting the wedding party involved (they were happily partying on the bus). Caitlin and Paul's reception decor was so pretty and I had a blast capturing the night's events. Here's a few of my favorite photos from their wedding day. Samantha and Frank got married a couple of weeks ago at the beautiful Danada House in Wheaton, Illinois. Their ceremony took place outdoors in the garden followed by portraits with the wedding party and a reception surrounded by their family and friends. Autumn and Abby got married on a beautiful and sunny spring afternoon at the Silver Lake Country Club in Orland Park, IL. The day started out with a first look followed by portraits in the garden. Autumn and Abby were so thoughtful and every detail had special meaning to them including the tulips in the bouquets and the handmade table numbers and centerpieces. Their lovely outdoor ceremony was held next to a pond on the golf course and I loved hearing the ducks in the background. I had an amazing time capturing Autumn and Abby's wedding day and I'm grateful they chose me to be their photographer! -Jake

There's no better way to end the year than celebrating a wedding! Holly and John got married on New Years Eve and I had such a wonderful time spending the day with them. They got married at Divine Infant Church in Westchester followed by a reception at the swanky Loft 28 West in downtown Aurora. We had fun photographing on the trolley and made a quick stop for photos in the snow outside of the Paramount Theater with the Christmas lights. Congratulations Holly and John and Happy New Year!

I'm so excited and happy for Daniel and Jacqueline who got engaged yesterday at a place near and dear to their hearts, Milkstop restaurant in La Grange. Daniel reached out to me to ask if I would capture his proposal. The cue, once I got there, was to watch for the champaign to be brought out and then he would drop to his knee and propose. I couldn't hear what he said but I could tell that she was incredibly happy. I loved that the whole restaurant cheered for them. Congratulations Daniel and Jacqueline!
