How do postpartum sessions work, exactly?
First: A detailed questionnaire at booking to help me understand your story, your goals, your boundaries, and your vision.
Next: A follow-up phone call (or email thread) to get to know each other a bit better beforehand!
Then: The shoot! My favorite part! We'll start with some simple grounding to calm nerves, set intentions, and settle into the studio space. You may have chosen to do some lifestyle portraits with your little one before moving on to postpartum detail shots. We'll go with the flow. I'll work with you to capture meaningful, connected images honoring your story. We'll wrap up with a brief intention or journal prompt to close out the experience together.
After: I'll deliver a curated gallery of 30+ images in both color and black & white. Use, print, and share (or don't) however you wish. I am a big believer in printed, tangible photos. Your finished gallery will include a link to purchase archival-quality products from my trusted print lab. Even a few 4x6 small prints will become treasures as the years go by!
Bonus: Northern Colorado has a strong network of birth workers and postpartum support specialists. Before you leave, I will make sure that you have the contact information for highly trusted practitioners, consultants, therapists, community resources, and play groups! Postpartum can feel deeply isolating, but you are not alone. I'm honored to be part of your village!
