Before fully diving into weddings, I filmed my family. I was inspired to film the kind of moments you think of when you hear people talk about “old home videos”, the timeless, most raw and beautiful pieces of life, no matter the gear on hand or the skillset, just documenting cherished moments, the everyday things, the real reactions, and family milestones as they unfolded. I’ve always felt the deepest privilege to be able to be present with my camera in these moments, mostly because they’ve blessed me more than I can possibly express. I don’t post this as a credit to myself but only as a testament to the Lord’s faithfulness and goodness in our lives in how He’s written our stories with so much beauty in the growth. How precious it is to get to watch videos of the past and reflect/appreciate how they can bring perspective on what the Lord has taught us and how we’re still growing. It makes me think about God’s presence through all of it. The birth of a long awaited baby girl named Remmie was one of those moments. My amazing niece was born 9 years ago and with her came so much joy. My sister and brother in law are quite possibly the strongest people I’ve ever known as they navigate Remmie’s life today. She is a radiant light with a beautiful story. Praise be to God for the story He’s telling through Remmie. And praise be to God for the beautiful storyteller He is. Happy birthday to my precious girl!
