The War BEGINS

"There Can Be Only One!"

Combining 3 schools into one, building a state of the art beautiful facility, and adopting the name Eagles, Southern Gap Highschool is looking to soar into existence. High above Southwest Virginia, battle hardened War Eagles already soar across the skies and aren't looking to give up territory to a new soar of Eagles!

Traveling to "The Nest" SGHS came looking to stake a claim. Both teams with talons out, opened the game with a flurry of big plays. Trading 80 yard return for 88 yard(I believe) return for TD's it looked like the scoreboard was going to heat up and be smoking by the end of the night!

The War Eagles would show that a culture of warriors that "find a way" is still strong in their program! Adjusting, gaining composure, and applying the knowledge and experience once again built into their program, they went to WAR! (and The War Eagle Nation got ROWDY!!!)

One play at a time, one hit at a time, they began tightening the net on the SGHS offense. The War Eagle offense successfully went to the air when they needed to and powered the ball when it was called for, and in the second half the SGHS QB began to find himself the hunted!

Once again The War Eagles prove they will battle them all Big or Small and WIN! 35-24

This game for a time was far from one sided. Southern Gap made a real game of it in the first half. Coached well and prepared for what the War Eagles would bring, Southern Gap has some play makers. If a team is not disciplined, SGHS will make it a long night for them.

Fans coming to the football game tonight at The Nest, foot traffic may enter through the regular gate (at the gym) and also the preferred parking gate (near the school office, on other side of school). We accept regular admission/pay into the game at both gates.

Tonight is little league night as well as family literacy night.

All little league football players, coaches, and cheerleaders will receive free admission. Little league will be recognized before the game and need to be lined up at the Eagle Tunnel no later than 5:45.

All DPS and RCI students receive free admission as well. Stop by the Family Literacy Night tent!

All RCH students receive free admission.

All children under 5 receive free admission.

We are excited to see everyone tonight!

Five sets of Adrenaline and Hustle

High flying Hitters and floor thump'n Digs, saw The Cove take Lee High all the way through five sets! (The Generals getting the victory.)

It's early in the season and with a few adjustments, War Eagle Volleyball will keep the gyms filled . It's going to be an exciting season!
