One of the questions we hear most often is whether exchanging private vows means giving up the emotion of an aisle reveal.

Lindsey & Michael chose a beautiful middle ground.

Some wedding days carry an energy you can feel from beginning to end.

Kali & Tom’s was one of those days — full of movement, celebration, and an incredible group of people surrounding them. From the morning with Kali and her bridesmaids, to a packed dance floor with a live band at the Malting Building, the entire day felt vibrant and alive.

And in the middle of it all, a quiet moment along the shore to read their vows to each other — a pause that made everything else feel even more meaningful.

“We almost didn’t hire a videographer…”

Kelly & Eleazar had decided to skip video to save money. But a week before their wedding, they changed their minds — and we just happened to be available.

After their wedding, Kelly shared that hiring a videographer ended up being one of their best decisions. Being able to watch their films back, hear the voices, and relive the day has meant more than they ever expected.

It’s something we hear often, and a reminder of how meaningful these moments become over time.

For those who don’t know, we spend part of our year living and working from our sailboat — traveling, filming, and telling stories along the way. Over the years, she’s taken us throughout the Caribbean, and right now she’s in Virginia for some much-needed renovations.

For the next couple months, this is where we’ll be — in a quiet boatyard along the Chesapeake Bay, continuing to edit and create wedding films from wherever life takes us. It’s a different kind of backdrop, but one that still inspires the work we do.
