THE BLACK SWAN 🖤🦢

A story of jealousy, comparison, and the destruction of one’s own peace.

The Black Swan became so consumed by the White Swan’s beauty, grace, and light that she forgot about her own.

What began as admiration slowly turned into comparison. Comparison became jealousy. And jealousy became an obsession with destroying what she couldn’t have.

But here’s the thing…

You can spend your entire life trying to dim someone else’s light, and it will never make yours shine brighter.

The White Swan was never competing. She was simply existing in what was meant for her.

And in the end, the Black Swan didn’t lose because the White Swan won. She lost because she allowed envy to consume her.

Jealousy doesn’t change what’s meant for someone else. It changes who you become.

“A heart at peace gives life to the body, but envy rots the bones.” Proverbs 14:30

A LITTLE JOY IN THE MIDDLE OF THE HARD.

Our community has been through so much these past few weeks. The devastating San Juan River flooding has left so many families displaced, with some losing nearly everything.

And while we can’t replace what’s been lost, we can come together and give back in the ways we know how. 🥹

That’s why we’re bringing together local photographers and volunteers to offer COMPLETELY FREE senior portraits for Class of 2027 seniors whose families have been affected by the flooding. Oh Snap Photography

Because every senior deserves to feel celebrated. Every milestone deserves to be remembered. And sometimes, something as simple as a photograph can bring a little light during a difficult season.

A little clownin’ around with the best creative community. 🎪🤡❤️

Something I’ve learned from hosting these meetups is that it truly takes a village. From the models who bring my crazy visions to life, to the people who help behind the scenes, to every photographer who shows up ready to create; none of this would be possible without you.

I may be the one organizing these meetups, but it’s the people who show up and pour their time, talent, and creativity into them that make them so special.

God has blessed me with such an incredible creative community right here in our little corner of the world, and I don’t take that for granted. 🥹

I will forever advocate for community over competition. 🥹

Some of the biggest blessings in my photography journey haven’t been bookings, followers, or opportunities. They’ve been the people God has placed in my path.

The friendships, the encouragement, the conversations, the shared creativity, and the reminder that we don’t have to figure everything out on our own.

I truly believe there’s room for all of us at the table. And sometimes, the people sitting beside you are the very ones God uses to help you grow.

This is why I love creating spaces for photographers to come together. Whether it’s through meetups, creative shoots, or Framed by Faith, my heart is to build a community where everyone feels welcomed, encouraged, and inspired.
