L+R’s wedding day started with hiking boots, backpacks, and a few miles of trail ahead.
We spent the morning making our way up the mountain, stopping whenever the light was too good to pass up or the view deserved an extra minute. By the time we reached the alpine lake, they had already spent the entire morning doing one of their favorite things together.
After they exchanged vows, there was nowhere else they needed to be. We wandered around the trails, took our time with portraits, ate a few snacks, and then made the hike back down.
One of my favorite things about photographing days like this isn’t just the scenery (although it’s breathtaking). It’s having the time to let the day unfold instead of rushing from one thing to the next. It gives couples the space to experience their wedding day exactly how they want.
