It's always nice to have a lunchtime round table meeting with industry friends. Pique Travel was a great place for us to have a meeting and discuss ongoing topics for the catering and events industry. This was a little different, not only being a daytime meeting, but instead of being a full catered event, we had a boxed lunch from D'Amico. Excelsior is such a quaint town with so much to offer, with it being right on the water there are so many options for great dining.

Events are so different right now, in fact, events are barely even happening. We were lucky to be able to do our NACE meeting after months of virtual meetings. This event was special, because not only was it our first meeting of 2021, but it was at the new amazing and quite impressive OMNI Vikings Lake Hotel. Some of the best parts of NACE are of course, the networking, but there is also always the one big bonus of FOOD! The OMNI Vikings Lake Hotel, did not let down. The food was delicious and, beautiful to photograph!

Events are so different right now, in fact, events are barely even happening. We were lucky to be able to do our NACE meeting after months of virtual meetings. This event was special, because not only was it our first meeting of 2021, but it was at the new amazing and quite impressive OMNI Vikings Lake Hotel. Walking into Porter Creek Hardwood Grill, there is an instant fragrance of the smoked wood and fireplace. The overall ambiance of the restaurant is as if you walked into the mountains of northern California. There are wine racks and the murals on the walls depict a wonderful scenescape. The lunch and appetizer food items chosen highlighted several pieces of the menu. The wood tables of the restaurant really made the food stand out.

This Twin Cities NACE meeting was all about decor and decor trends. Did you know that an average trend only last seven months?! Sheree, from Apres gave us a great overview on the upcoming trends, and of course Pantone's color of the year: Blue. We all sat family style which made for great conversation, and of course enjoying the food!

There is never a NACE event that doesn't have amazing food, and great socializing. The Muse Event Center and CRAVE catering did not disappoint. There were many food stations, a fun dessert station with an active dessert and also a tasty holiday drink. Apres did a wonderful job with the decor too. There was an award ceremony, congrats to all the winners, it was all well deserved!

Every NACE meeting always has something in common, amazing food and socializing. This meeting was no different! Crowne Plaza Minneapolis West absolutely killed it with their tapas spread. The piaya was delicious and photographed amazing! Also, if possible the civiche would have been taken home in my bag to eat endlessly. This meeting was alway very informational because it was about event contracts. Mindas touched on some really good key points, and as always it was great to see Hana from Mani Mela. She nailed it with the decor!
