This week I’m back home, visiting family, soaking in the mountain air, and taking the opportunity to push my creativity a little further in one of my favorite places on earth — Rocky Mountain National Park.

There’s something about these landscapes that challenges you as a photographer. The light, the scale, the weather, the views around every corner. I’m having so much fun stepping outside my usual Northwoods scenery and testing my skills in a completely different environment.

Colorado, you’re as beautiful as I remember.

Ready or not… busy season is rolling in, golden hour is getting later, my camera roll is about to explode, and the Northwoods are waking back up.

From dock nights and barefoot babies to wildflower fields, lake days, seniors, couples, pups, and everything in between — I’m so ready for another summer of telling your stories.

My calendar fills incredibly fast once summer officially hits, especially evening sessions, so if you’ve been thinking about booking… this is your sign.

The greenhouse may have been full of flowers, but these two little faces completely stole the show.

Some sessions are loud and playful.
Some are soft and sentimental.
And some somehow become both all at once.

I know parents sometimes worry about whether their children will “cooperate” for photos — but honestly? I don’t need perfection. I just need connection. The in-between moments always end up meaning the most anyway.

These classic greenhouse sessions have felt so full of warmth, joy, and that sweet kind of chaos that comes with little ones. And I already know years from now these images will feel like stepping back into this exact season of life.

So grateful for every family that stepped into the greenhouse with me this spring.

The Plant & Play greenhouse minis might have looked like little hands in dirt and tiny flower pots… but to me, they felt like slowing down long enough to notice the magic in the middle of motherhood.

The way she looked at her mama while “helping.”
The proud little smile after planting something herself. The way mom reached instinctively for her hand without even thinking about it.

Those are the moments I hope these children remember someday. Not perfection. Not posed smiles. Just the feeling of being loved.

I know these sessions are short, but over time I’ve learned that children don’t need hours to tell their story. Sometimes all it takes is a warm greenhouse, messy little hands, and a mama willing to be present in the frame with them.

These Plant & Play minis were some of my absolute favorites this spring. Honest, playful, connection-filled moments surrounded by all the dreamy greens and blooms of the greenhouse.

And on Mother’s Day especially… I just feel incredibly grateful for every mom who trusted me to capture these little pieces of their story.

Today feels like the perfect day to finally share these beautiful Boardwalk Minis in honor of all the incredible moms who came out a couple weekends ago.

Just mamas and their babies, wandering the boardwalk beneath the pines, soaking in the soft spring sunshine and all those little in-between moments that deserve to be remembered forever.

Happy Mother’s Day to every kind of mama today. You are so deeply loved, even in the moments you feel unseen.
