It is not always easy to wait for what is right. But that’s exactly what Jen and JJ did. Thank goodness because they could not be more perfectly suited to each other.

The best things take time to develop. The same is true for people. We need time to grow up, figure ourselves out, become the people were meant to be. It’s because Jen and JJ did this that they were perfectly ready to not only meet the right person, but also to be the right person when they found each other.

We spent so much of the week leading up to their wedding watching the forecast and preparing ourselves for the worst of summer storms. But when July 18 arrived, we had the most perfect summer day for their celebration. Everything went according to plan, so JJ and Jen were able to just take in the moment.

It was the best of Philadelphia wedding days at the Lucy. For two people who were definitely worth the wait.

Notable mention for Walter the dog who deserves his own special mention for being a very important part of their love story. (And for making an appearance in their cocktail hour ice sculpture.)

There are some love stories that take unexpected turns. The kind of love that requires a lot of journeying, waiting, and patience for the right person to find their way into our lives.

And the joys & sorrows of all the days before us aren’t negated by this type of love, they’re deepened. Every moment that has come before and everything that we are can be celebrated and amplified by the right person.

Regina and Joe’s wedding day felt like a celebration of knowing, perhaps more deeply than most, just how extraordinary it is to stand beside the person you love and get to say, “it’s you.”

Nothing shines brighter than the particular kind of joy that comes from knowing what a gift you have been given in this life. Regina and Joe, thank you so much for allowing us to bask in your love.

Spent my Monday in absolute awe of the beautiful weekend past.

Catie Pinataro and Rob Pinataro are so obviously & enthusiastically in love that you can’t help but feel that in every photo. Plus, these two have such joyous spirits that I couldn’t stop smiling along side them!

Spending the day at The Bellevue Hotel, St Thomas Of Villanova Parish, and back to Bellevue for a Philadelphia Premier Wedding Venues reception at XIX meant that i was just overwhelmed with intimate moments among beautiful architecture.

Days like this remind me of how much wonder there is in the world and how fortunate I am to be surrounded by beauty in my work.

I’ve known Nicole almost as long as I’ve known how to change my camera settings.

It’s been almost 15 years since we met on the set of. photo shoot where I was the humble assistant. We got along swimmingly and then life took us in our own unique directions. That was it, I thought. But a decade later, we reconnected.

When Serena, my associate, needed support for a few weddings around her due date with her first daughter, I was part of the backup plan. (Photographer parents, you know the drill.)

So when Kira was born and needed someone to step in just two days later, I was her gal! That was the call that call brought Nicole back into my life.

There’s something so special about seeing someone you knew in a completely different chapter of life finding joy and safety in love. Nicole was all of that on her wedding day. So happy, calm, and full of love with Brian by her side.

I’ve always known Nicole to be someone who feels life deeply. She cares hard. She loves harder. Her wedding day was full of those honest emotions. She started the day visiting her father’s grave to honor his memory. She got married at Washington Memorial Chapel, the same historic space where she worked at the time. Every element of the day was connected and intentional.

And Brian. Watching him care for Nicole, show up for her, love her so genuinely, reminded me how incredible it is when someone finds their true equal.

That day didn’t just reconnect us. It sparked something again. Since then, we’ve played together in artistic cosplay shoots. I’ve captured her professional headshots. We exchange holiday cards each year, although her personal newsletter is always tops! And I still owe her a lunch date one of these Fridays! (See, Nicole, I haven’t forgotten!)

When I say that photography is about relationships for me, THIS is what I’m talking about. Of course, I love the art of it, but the people are the part that sticks with me. That fills my life. That matters most.

Happy anniversary, Nicole and Brian. I’ll always be glad that you came back into my life when you did
