Thank you for taking the time to look over my page. My name is Bruce or as my friends like to call me, Da Mooose. That's not a typo by the way. It's my goal to provide the public with some really interesting and unique photos of the wonderful state of Michigan and the surrounding region. You may want to just look at them online, or possibly see something you'd like to purchase. Either is
fine, but on the chance you see something you'd like for yourself or someone else, I can assure you that you will be surprised in a pleasant way at what I'm asking for prints. In other words, you're not going to break the bank purchasing my prints. Nothing you see here on this page is over $50 and as little as $8, including a frame or matt in some cases. Enough of the sales pitch, let me tell you a little bit about myself. I've been a Michigan native almost my entire life. I grew up in a little place called Brownstown, which over the past few decades has grown quite a bit. I come from a Polish/ French Canadian background and can cook you a traditional meal from either culture. By trade I am a logistics engineer or what you may call a truck driver. I also look after an aging parent on top of plying my craft of photography. My grandma once gave me an old 110 camera for a gift when I was about 6 or 7 before I headed off to summer camp. She told me not to take all the pictures all at once and to take pictures that meant something special to me while I was at camp. There were several photos that were blurry or hand my thumb in them, but there were a few that my grandma really liked. So started my love of photography. Growing up I've had several different cameras; the 110, a disc the old 35mm winders, a couple of 35mm zoom and eventually my first digital camera. Now mind you I've never taken a class or a course on photography, but that never stopped me from trail and error. With my first good digital camera, I learned about editing my photos. Cropping had to be my favorite tool because I could take one photo and edit it into 2, 3 or more from just the one shot. I was also able to correct the color, brightness and other aspects of my work. Things started to progress. Armed with my camera, a keen eye for my surroundings and a truck, I set out daily to deliver goods across the region, pausing every so often to snap a couple of shots of the world around me. My friends and family have told me time and again that I should share my work and turn what I love into a business after seeing some of the photos I've taken over the years. I gave it a lot of thought for many years. One day, I went to a street art fair and started looking at some of the offerings of other photographers. I will say, there are many talented shutterbugs out there and I really enjoy their work. I understand that these artists have spent a lot of time and money on their work. I was looking thru the 4"x6" matted prints of one such artist and was shocked to see they were asking up to $35 for one print! I won't tell you how much a matted 8"x10" was. I am not knocking ANY photographer out there who wishes to sell their work for large amounts of money. They've earned that right and if they can get what they are asking, congrats. I believe that the average person should be able to purchase high quality photos for themselves or others and not have to pay out the nose for them. And so it begins. My mind was made up and on February 6th of 2014, The Wandering Moose Photography was born. As of 22 FEB 2014, my page has 175 likes. I am currently working on getting a website up and running to showcase more of my works and accept payments. With a stock of over 5,000 photos and growing, I have a lot to offer. If you don't see anything you like posted here on the page or website, drop me a line and ask if I may have photos of what your looking for. I'm always traveling, looking for that next picture. STAY TUNED, you never know what will show up next here at The Wandering Moose Photography.
