After months of massive requests, I am finally offering a workshop. I'm heading to the Southwest desert this July for an exclusive, 2-day Phoenix photography masterclass—one seat is already spoken for, so only 4 spots remain. Aimed at pros but open to ambitious beginners, this is a hands-on, high-intensity experience where we will be shooting far more than talking. Ask any of my past mentees: you get maximum shooting time and premium portfolio assets, not hours of listening to someone lecture. We will actively leverage the elements—learning how to use natural light & reflectors like a strobist would to get gorgeous, highly intentional images, mastering harsh midday exposure on urban parking decks, hitting remote desert tracks for epic sunrise rim-lighting, and taking over a private studio space for dedicated portfolio building with real clients and real people. We will cover ambient light to OCF, and everything in between with intent.
We start with a sharp 4:30am call time to beat the sun, executing strict heat management as we transition between outdoor locations and the studio. July in the Sonoran desert means navigating intense historical temperatures, so if you can't handle early mornings, late night caffeine fueled shoots, strict hydration, and fast-paced environments, do not apply. We have a 3rd contingency day built-in for weather insurance, and no public dates or pricing will be posted to protect the privacy of the block.
