I let kids be as involved or uninvolved as they want they want. This particular kiddo was extremely interested in my camera, so I asked him if he'd like to use it. Then I captured him saying this. 🤍

Imagine asking me to document your family’s after school day, and this is what you get back 🤍

This shoot was SO fun. We were all laughing the entire time, and the best part? Dad even said he actually ENJOYED this session compared to the usual “sit and pose in front of the camera” photoshoots they’ve done before.

If that’s not enough to make my day, I’m not sure what is 🫶🏻

The reality of trying to take your own photos as a photographer.

This is one way I help kids feel comfortable, safe, and excited to be in front of the camera. 🤍

I always want kids to know I’m not just some stranger standing there taking photos. I love letting them to interact with me and my camera a little because kids are naturally curious, and I LOVE encouraging that.

When kids feel included and comfortable, they usually open up so much more during sessions, which leads to more natural moments and a less tense photoshoot. Which is always my goal when getting a family behind the camera!

What do I love most about in-home shoots?

The list could go on forever, but truly, it’s the love that shines when people are in the place they’re most comfortable. The way kids light up when they get to show off their toys and everything that’s special to them. I love seeing my clients’ homes, every house has its own story, its own unique character. The hand drawn pictures on the fridge, the photos from the past.

These are the moments that warm my soul and make me so grateful I get to preserve these seasons of life for each client.

Hellloooo!!!

I just realized it’s been a while since I’ve shown my face on here 🤍

Can you believe it’s been almost THREE years since I started this business? Because I sure can’t!

I’ve been busy growing as a photographer and just as an overall human, stepping out of my comfort zone, trying new ideas, and really focusing on what I want as a business owner. To say it’s been a wild ride would be an understatement.

I love what I’m creating and what I’ll continue to create. I’m beyond blessed with the best clients who trust me, and the new ones too. I’m so, so thankful for all of you!

With change comes growth… right? 😉
But really, some things are changing over here!

One of the first things is my name. Citrine & Selenite has brought me so far, but it no longer feels like me. I’ve wanted to make this change for a while… but wow, it’s hard to pick a name, especially when your own name isn’t your favorite 😂
