Almost 7 years ago, before Olivia Gaston Photography ever captured any weddings, I captured their wedding day. π₯Ή Now THAT is trust.
Their wedding was the very first wedding I ever photographed (with an extra set of hands- thank you Tiffany Maurer!). I was simply trying to gain experience, learn, grow and prepare myself for this little dream I had of growing a successful photography business.
Fast forward 7 years, and that βlittleβ business isn't so little anymore. π€ Iβm busier than I ever imagined I could be and this year I even reached the point of hiring help behind the scenes just to keep up with it all. I donβt share that to brag. I share it because sometimes I look back at where I started and genuinely canβt believe how far this dream has come. If you put your mind to something, work hard, keep showing up and believe in what you're building, you really can do incredible things. Itβs something my husband and I try to teach our kids every single day. To work hard in school, dream big and never be afraid to go after the things they want in life. I hope they grow up watching us work hard for the life weβve built and know that their dreams are worth chasing, too.
And getting to photograph this family all these years later makes it feel even more full circle. From trusting me with one of my very first weddings, to continuing to trust me with their memories todayβ¦ that means more than they probably know. π€7 years later, and Iβm still so grateful I took the chance on this little dream of mine.
